Last 11 reg season ride for Clemson MBB... what will occur?

So for all the people wanting Clemson to move away from current basketball leadership, this is the true beginning of that journey. The stages of the journey... Last Reg season games, ACC tournament, and NCAA Tournament.
STAGE 1: Last 11 regular season games. We will see how these games go. And Neff will be watching too.
11 games with 6 at home. I think Clemson needs to go undefeated at home (+6) and then win 3 on the road. I believe that means they would finish regular season at 23-8 and the ACC Conference at 13-7
Away games are... UNC - I give Clemson 20% a win, probably less Syr - 50/50 chance for win, need to respond after UNC GT - Need revenge, but never, never know which Clemson team shows up. ND - I see this as 75% chance to win based on current records. Wake - Who knows??? Wake scores in the 80s. They are undefeated at home as of today.
STAGE 2: ACC Tournament Success always depends upon seed and draw. Clemson should be fighting to finish in top 6. If Clemson wins like above, then it will own tiebreakers over Syr, Pitt, UVA, NC St, Wake, & FSU. So they could get round one bye and get lower seeded round two opponent. If made round 3 would be playing #3 team.
STAGE 3: NCAA Tournament Finish like above and could get 7 seed at least. I have seen seeds as high as 4 and as low as 10.
So if a team finishes 23-8 in regular season, plays in semifinals of ACC Tournament, makes NCAA Tournament as an 8 seed or higher, and wins their first NCAA game... how does an AD let that coach go?
We will see.

If we make the tournament brownell should nit be fired. Especially with our upward trajectory in recruiting and the talent we have coming back.

What about the possibility of early exits in the ACC tourney and the NCAA’s? Still ok?

Seems like what we've been hearing for the last 5 years or so, and then having things like getting "snubbed" and puking up all over Littlejohn in NIT game. And Brownell STILL never got fired.

Neff announced Brownell was going to return before the NIT game last season which probably made Brad feel comfortable knowing that his job was safe for another year.

Never said satisfied.. Also did not say lose in first round.
I said if you finish in top 8, win 2 ACC tournament games. Make NCAAs and win first game... How does an AD fire a coach?
For me, I have supported Coach BB for years, but I feel Clemson needs new voice, energy and leadership in basketball.
But if that all happens how does Neff decide to make a coaching change?
Now maybe you should read more and react with less emotion and defensiveness. Not every online post / chat has to be argumentative.

An AD doesn't let that coach go. Hopefully though an AD also only adds one additional year and makes no upward adjustments to a buyout.

Probably right...
But I think the time is right for new voice, new blood, new energy. So if I was an AD, I only make the move if I have a coach that I am 100% sold on and in love with.
This will be curious time for Neff if he is wanting to make his mark at Clemson. I seriously think Clemson basketball is the area where Neff could ensure that his own tenure is impactful and memorable.

Totally agree with that sentiment. If Neff were to lead this program out of its historic, and recent, malaise to a competitive and respected program befitting so many of our other sports, his tenure here could be legendary.

I think we're 5-6 down the stretch. 3 losses to UNC, UVA, FSU and then win 5 out of the other 8.
Out in the first/ maybe second round of the ACC and NIT bound. Brownell gets a 5 year extension.
Sorry to be doom and gloom but I have zero confidence Brownell can get us into the top third of the ACC.

Realistically speaking...

I don't think Clemson has snowball's chance in He!! of going 9-2 over the last 11 games. Honestly, I don't think they have to win 9. Winning 7, which would also be a stretch IMO, would likely be enough to get into the NCAAT field without needing a win or 2 in the ACCT.

no way we win 9 down the stretch. I'd break it down like this
9 wins- 0% chance 7 wins- 20% 6 wins- 25% 5 wins- 40% 4 wins- 15%
I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. I have to think (or hope to think) that NIT= new coach.
Any chance we could get Shaka Smart?

and I think he'd be a great hire. The question is, would he leave Marquette for Clemson? He's currently making around $3 million per year at Marquette which is ironically the same thing CBB is making at Clemson. Just to peak Shaka's interest would probably take something $4 to $5 million range. A bigger issue may be his wife who is a professor at Marquette.

3 tourneys in 6 years. Won the conference tourney and finished top 10 in his final season, only his 12th overall as a head coach. He’s only been a head coach 15 years total and has been to the NCAA tournament 10 times. You’re going to brag on Brad Brownell, trash talk Shaka Smart, and expect anyone to think you know anything about basketball? Is it a race thing? Are you guys afraid we’ll hire another black coach? Because this is pathetic.

Shaka would be a fool to leave Marquette for Clemson. Dude has it made there.
Yes, it'd be awesome if that happened but...has he ever voiced wanting to come back to Clemson or the ACC? I see his name mentioned all the time but...Outside of a short stint here, has there been anything that says he'd want to come back to Clemson?
Sure, shoot the shot of course but I haven't seen anything yet that would make it seem like he's waiting on Clemson to make an offer and would jump at the opportunity.

I think we win around half the games.
We'll win a game no one expects and lose a game no one expects.
Maybe win a game in the ACC tournament or a close loss and then limp into the NCAAs.
With the lack of talent coming back assuming PJ leaves, what does the AD do?
Next year is a rebuilding year even if Brownell stays so if we keep him we're just going to see more of the same...

Predict we will be on bubble again only this time we squeak into tourney. Then comes out trademark early Irish exit. And finally Neff gives CBB an extension and raise. You heard it here first.

According to TeamRankings, Clemson is projected to finish 21-10 (11-9 ACC) and in 6th place in the ACC regular season. Under their projections, Clemson has at least a 70% chance of winning 7 of the 11 remaining games with only UNC (21.5%), WF (45.6%), Syracuse (59.7%), and Miami (68.8%) having a less than 70% chance. By winning 7 of the 11, it would also go along with their projected record for Clemson to finish the regular season. This is a nice stretch of games to prove we belong in the tournament by beating the teams we should and hopefully get hot before the postseason.

As much as I want a change I don’t think he could let Brad go under those circumstances. However, if we flounder during those phases and underperform I believe he will finally make a change. He will do it quick due to transfer portal rules.

I just don't see Brad out coaching Tony Bennett. Then, I think we lose all the games on the road except ND as Tech and Wake play really good at home. We'll be a bubble team going into the ACC tourney so depending on what we do there decides if it's NCAA or NIT.
Either way Brad comes back next year. And next year is a rebuild. PJ gone, Chase gone, Girard gone, Clark gone, and we're playing with a center that Brad comes up with from the portal.

Sounds familiar ...... wash, rinse, and recycle! I'm pulling for the Tigers to win out and make some noise in the tournament. But that is what I have hoped every year at this time and again Lucy drops the football!
