Ready to buy WiFi mesh

Mar 29, 2021, 9:03 AM

I just need two units. One to act as the router and one to act as an extender.

The extender will have to use power supply only. I can not run a cat5 to the 2nd unit.

What buy?

That is the way mesh works.

eero fan myself, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Same answer as always.

Orbi for my favoritest.
Google if you hate privacy.

This is my wild card that bought for other house and has been working like a bawss on 300M connection and has had up to 20 devices connected with no issues. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RLHLXLC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Eero---works great and cheaper but owned by Amazon so same privacy issue as Google. Amazon didn't buy Eero because they were dying to get into the router biz. If you already have an Alexa device in the house, don't sweat it, they already know everything about you.

I installed an eero system a couple years ago. Super easy.***

Was a present. This was at the wreck or mendation from soccerkrzy®. It's OK I guess. Gives me internets throughout the house where I didn't have it before. I mean it doesn't ess my D or anything but it does what it's supposed to do.

What you need?

Mar 29, 2021, 9:43 AM

If you cut the cord, work from home, and have 3 kids, and stream everything, I'd go with Orbi. Make sure it's an AX (or wifi6) router/satellite. Triband is better, as it uses a dedicated band to connect the satellite AP to the base router.

If you're an old geezer, have cable, stream very little, and just surf the interwebs and email the bridge club bloody mary recipes, then I'd go cheap, dual band, AC mesh.
