allegations that he is a sexual predator, but most fans have short memories and will resume being a fan of his once he is playing football again.
At the end of the day, fans will cheer for their favorite team/player regardless.
Deshaun's biggest hurdle will be earning back the trust of companies who used him for endorsements.

Take Ray Lewis for example. In 2000 he was charged with and arrested for a double murder in Atlanta.
It is still a cloud that hangs over him to this day even though the charges were later dropped.
Fans will still cheer for their favorite team/player.

Look at Mike Vick

Dog abuser, killer, convict and then NFL QB. Animal abuse is a worse sin than human abuse for some people. Also, while the news about Watson is disappointing, a 24yr old dude trying to get a happy ending from a masseuse is not that horrific and would have never made news if he wasn't a high profile star. I doubt Civil cases even arise if it was an average 24yr old guy that likes massages and makes $50k a yr.
So far there are no criminal charges and most the girls won't talk to NFL investigators. My assumption is they won't meet because they will be found to have overstated their interaction. While I'm sure there is some truths to the stories but none of them were so scared or distraught by interaction that they called the cops. They all went to an attorney to get paid not criminal charges against Watson.
That said, Watson will be just fine unless criminal charges are filed. Sexual misconduct isn't going to stop fans from loving a guy that takes their team to the promise of playoffs and Super Bowls.

That's not accurate, though?
Remember, Vick was a living legend and then the dog fighting stuff derailed his career, rather than his career flourishing in spite of it or after it (also, what murder?).
I think the problem, and one Watson will likely get in front of himself, is the suggestion that it was no big deal. It may have been a mistake, it may have been mostly victimless in most of all of these cases with so many different professionals.
To be fair, the cops have been involved, & the civil cases have already arisen, but none of them were for money outright; the suggestion of it being for someone making vastly less per year than it would have taken for Watson to stop this from ever becoming a story in the first place seems misguided at best (i.e., a $50k salary likely isn't paying for hundreds of licensed off-site massage specialists).
Watson will get ahead of this. Right now he HAS to wait. No choice. But when it's his time to act, I don't expect him to cower & hide but the opposite; I expect he'll be a champion of women's rights & prevention of this kind of thing ever happening again regardless of how right or wrong anything he did really was.

Dog killer! Or dog murderer if you prefer! Had like 21 dead animals found buried on his property. Thought it was obvious that when I said Dog abuser, killer and then mentioned the sin of animal abuse.
And yes Vick was a star before and did not become a NFL star because of it. Obviously Watson is a star before and will be after.
I think you missed several points. Instead of worrying what a 24yr old makes, the fact is if it was anyone doing the same thing that wasn't a popular NFL, it wouldn't even be a story. I think what Vick did with dog-fighting, spending yrs in penitentiary and playing in NFL, obviously didn't derail his career except for taking a 3yr lockup break. If that didn't kill a career, this surely won't derail Watson's.
One more example, Ben Rufflesburger (I know, thought it was funny), got in trouble for rape. Girl went to police first, not a money grubber like buzbee. Big Ben paid her off, settled, had to go to sexual conduct classes and do like 100hrs of community service going to talk about the issue at other functions. Guess what, his career wasn't derailed.
Just don't knock your girlfriend out in an elevator on camera because that will derail your career, ask Ray Rice.
Watson will be playing later this season. He will likely be on different team next year, and all those fans will love him once he starts winning. That's how NFL works!

OK! THAT'S WHY I ASKED! You just said "murder," and I think it's OK to ask, isn't it? Yikes.
You're right, it wouldn't be a story if some other rich-but-anonymous guy did what Watson did.
I am confused about Vick's career, though; I don't remember him doing anything of note really at all after the criminal punishment, but I'm listening for sure.
I hope you're right about Watson, and I think it's accurate. I want to see him play, and I want to hear the truth. One day, I think we'll get both.

I think you’re way off base. I would be willing to bet in a year or two no one even remembers or talks about this anymore. Probably 90% of his fans don’t believe the accusations. Once the lawsuit ends he will get back to work and have a long illustrious career. Deshaun is a good person. Like everyone he made some dumb mistakes. I don’t think he forced himself on any woman but it’s clear he made some bad decisions and put himself in a bad situation. He will learn from this as Sammy Watkins learned from his getting busted with drugs. No one remembers that anymore either.

I hear you on Watkins, albeit his pot problems were all in college, weren't they? Plus it's pot; 2 pot violations is vastly different from dozens of sexual assault allegations & a legitimate lawsuit, not to mention Sammy never really hit the level of eliteness as Watson (to your point, if he had I think we'd hear more about the pot problems by nature, even if dramatically less since they were at Clemson instead of in the NFL).
I do, however, agree that he may yet have a brilliant career, but I think it will include advocacy & support for women's rights & against sexual assault. I think instead of forgetting about it he'll deliberately get on the other side of it & be a champion for prevention & information.

I'd like to suggest Deshaun Watson is not stupid

Naïve, I can certainly understand.
"Not very smart" isn't how I would ever describe Deshaun Watson, though. He's the opposite, in my opinion, and his intelligence has helped define his success from high school to the tip of elite performance in the NFL itself.
I think he's also smart enough to know he can't just run; instead, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a champion for women's rights & helping others avoid anything like what happened to him (he's always been a deliberately vocal supporter of women, including his mother & family & especially in women-owned businesses).

each of them would have settled for $100,000. Some may have settled for less while others may have wanted much more. That said, twenty-two accusers at $100,000 each equates to $2.2 million which is pocket change to DW. By the time this is all said and done, with attorney's fees and legal costs, he may spend five times that.

This gives him street cred in the NFL. Yes maybe the FCA will curtail his speaking engagements for a while, then there is the story of David. Ray Lewis committed murder and his jersey sales increased. Its a free country, albeit not the smartest one.

I think it is more of a question of time for Watson rather than an absolute certainty fans & the league will not celebrate or even accept him.
Yes, he'll always have some level of stigma attached to his name. It's inescapable.
But knowing what we know about Watson at his core, I'd be less surprised if instead he doesn't become an incredible leader & teacher for compromising situations & sexual assault, supporting multiple groups & advocating publicly for more attention & awareness outright.
Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if one day he leaves the league an outright hero. Just my two cents.

...regardless, and here's why:
1) Remember when Brett Farve sent pics of his ###### to some reporter chic? 2) Remember when Ben Roethlisberger got caught exposing himself to some random woman? 3) Etc....
My point is that Deshaun will rebound.
I hope he hasn't done anything illegal and is fully exonerated. But if he's not, his built-up public goodwill is about to come in handy. He's not done.
