Does anybody think Shipley would have got in anyway?

Miami had 9 in the box, Clemson had 7 to block. Replay that I have watched there’s a Miami guy coming free right where Shipley is headed
And even if Shipley does somehow get in, does anybody think we could have got 3 yards on one play for the 2 point conversion?
When everything gets tight on short yardage or goal line, this team is bad. When everyone in the stadium knows what is coming Clemson is bad. We’ve been soft for a few years but the 4th quarter last night really showed how soft we are.
We look slow, non explosive and weak.

Wasn’t there a game earlier this year when we tried that? Maybe Duke? Miami only had one option all night everyone knew the run was coming and we couldn’t do anything to stop them. Because they are physical and can move. We look like we play in mud
It all goes back to recruiting. We want to offer such a small amount of guys and act like Clemson is such an exclusive offer and when we miss on those guys there’s no one left or we’re way too late to start from the bottom and win somebody.

that new push play to perfection. When you know short yardage is an issue, and you have a bye how do you not work on implementing something like that.

Clemson ran the ball 34 times last night for 31 yards. 0.9 yard average. Average says he wasn’t getting in

The last play was less than half a yard. 0.9 > 0.4, so average says he was getting in.

He took the ball from the shotgun, so he had to get around 2 yards
There were a lot more plays last night running the ball that resulted in loss of yards than gaining a yard. Go back and watch the replay. Miami defender running free to meet him. Miami had NINE guys in the box. We had 7 to block

Ok, Mr Klubnick. Keep defending hero ball that loses 10 yards on the most critical play of the game.

I think Klubnik had a pretty good view there to see that we were about to get blown up AGAIN

While Cade should’ve done what the coaches asked, you can’t blame him for trying to make something happen if he saw that the numbers were not in our favor to run.

Either way, probably a bad call by the coaches.

Counting on Ship to NOT lose yardage, and NOT fumble up the middle on the one inch line is asking a lot. Man, this is depressing to type.

Definitely think Klubnik saw what was coming. Probably saw pre snap that Miami had more hats in the box than we could block. He’d been watching it for 4 quarters
I don’t think there is anything Clemson is good at in short yardage. We’re slow and we’re soft

This team doesn’t have nearly the players of teams past , our backs are average, QB is average( below in maturity) o line is way below average. From a physicality standpoint, we aren’t.This team has a lot of issues and our coaches better figure it out, but I don’t think they are capable.Spiller, Austin, and Grisham are not the answers, I can live with the defensive guys for now, but on the offensive side of the ball we are terrible.Go Tiger, beat the Pack

I remember when our O line would sled people, even Bamas good teams. We need to fix O line and it would solve so much. Offer more Dudes early and not limited amounts and take our pick of who wants to come to Clemson.

I have said for 4 years now that something changed in our off season conditioning and preparation. I know Joey Batson had a heart attack and there were some changes due to that but it has become so obvious that our team is no longer the strongest, best conditioned team on the field in just about every game. Look at Bama and Georgia's players. They all look like Barrett Carter. Lean and muscular. For the past few years, we don't even look like that except for the few studs that have become the exception and not the rule. Last night we were down to 3rd team defensive linemen and even they were gassed. I don't know if it is diet, training programs, off season workouts, but something has changed and we do not appear athletic and strong like we did before.
