WR Option Routes

I remember before the season Kyle Richardson mentioned they would be implementing option routes into the passing game. I wonder if that factored into the way our offense looked for the majority of the season. QB holding the ball too long and timing being off. Not defending DJ or anyone else, just curious if this has been mentioned or thought of by anyone else. Possibly when they put Cade in the game they took that out of the equation to simplify things.

There is no way DJ could mentally process option routes. If they did use it, they went away from it. Maybe we will see it with Cade.

it was all DJ could do was make it to the field, without having to decide on different plays.

Option routes decisions should be determined pre-snap. Based on zone vs man to man and if the defender is playing inside or out. Any QB or receiver should be able to determine that at this level.
