Yes. Thanks for posting. Interesting to say the least. On the surface, seems more important and accurate to have higher stars on defense.
Obviously a combo of what many have posted here. Grades, rating system etc. What jumps out to me is most of the higher ranked star players in general are selected in the first couple rnds in the draft each year.
Another intriguing fact is this is telling on the uga's , miss st, meechigans, so cal , ND"s of the cfp that have all these recruiting trophies and no real trophies...
Finally, Dabo is light years ahead of all of us. He's known the formula from the get. Smart Man.

That’s not true the recruiting sites

ESPN, 24/7 and Rivals do not have access to a players grades. The kids have to sign a release to share them with the schools recruiting them, and those universities would never release them to a recruiting site, that would be illegal. Go look at the 2021 player rankings, I bet less than 15% have even taken the SAT and there is no way they’ve got a copy of their high school transcript.

So the coots should drop out of the SEC and join the NFL?

Their roster is filled with 2.5* talent. They would DOMINATE the NFL.
That’s the moral of the story, right?

The moral of the story is that there is something more than just counting stars.

There are ~30 5 star recruits a year. There are a couple thousand 2-3 star recruits. Math works out to say that even if 50% of 5 stars end up going pro... there aren’t many 5 star players on an NFL roster.

But based on the data shown, the average is not even three stars!

many high school kids as you say that don't get recruited as hard or rated as high while they're only 16-18 years old, that still have plenty of game in them and bloom a little later in the process.
