I'd say Clemson has the advantage at QB. Clemson has the best overall RB but I think Bamas group of 3 is better than Clemson's as a whole. Clemson at WR and Bama at OL. I basically disagree with this all around.

Have you watched Tua at all? Every time he's played a good defense he hasn't played well. All he does it throw up prayers and has all year. Soon as he plays a defense that forces tight throws he's struggles. He isn't as near as accurate as Tlaw and doesn't read defenses or make decisions as well either.

TL might be better in the long term, but right now Tua has the slight advantage imo.

put throws on a dime all year long. Great thing about it, we'll find out in 8 yr hrs.
The only thing i hope, is we dont lose b/c of turning ball over.

I've rarely seen him put anything on a dime. I see a guy who throws the ball as far as he can and sees his WR run under it past the crappy secondaries they've played.

Tua is the first QB Bama has EVER had that plays like this. Bama has never had a QB like Tua in their history. They dont know what a dual threat QB is.

It's total defense numbers so I'm not going to bother replying other than to say he wasn't "bad" against MSU and he was injured against UGA so... what are you really going to learn from that?

He has been injured, seriously, twice this season. Both injuries were almost career ending had it not been for an experimental surgery. He will have to play carefully, because all it will take is Christian Wilkins landing on him one time...

Lawrence has been great, but Tua has been much better

Outside of the Georgia game where he was injured, he probably had the greatest QB season in the history of CFB. In terms of efficiency he was #1 by a mile. He might not have the counting stats like total passing yards in a season, but he's averaged 11.4 yards per attempt with 41 TDs and just 4 INTs.
Trevor is at 8.0 YPA with 27 TDs and 4 INTs which is fantastic for a true FR QB, but it's not Tua.

Bama has played an average 80 something defense. I bet he did have a great year. He was terrible when he played any defense with a pulse.

We haven't played great defenses either but I believe it's 50 something average.

Total defense is a complete garbage stat
Jan 7, 2019, 9:30 AM

You shouldn't even look at these days.
Army finished 8th in total defense this year. Army's defense was sh*t. Total defense makes Army's defense look good because Army led the country in time of possession (38 min per game) and their defense didn't have to defend many snaps.

LOL, I think it’s impossible to find a fan base that thinks their own OL is very good. That’s the one position group that everyone thinks is terrible if they give up 1 sack or their RB doesn’t gain 20 yards on every carry!

above-average pass rusher. He's a real concern against a 3-4 front. They'll bring pressure from disguised looks and delayed blitzes. If he gets burned a time or two, he'll get jumpy.
He's my one concern on offense. Hope he plays over his head.

QB - Bama. We have a very good one, they have a great one WR - Bama. They have the best WR corp in the country, ours is #2. RB - Clemson. But they are loaded too. OL - ???. Based on history i would hesitate to say ours is better. Theirs seems to hold up better against great defenses than ours does.
DL - Clemson. They have the single most dominant DL in CFB this year though in Q. Williams. LB - Bama DBs - Bama. Their big edge is at safety. I think we are every bit as good at CB.
Punting - Both are actually terrible FG kicking - I think both are pretty bad

QBs with QBs RBs with RBs etc because when their QB is on the field, ours isn't. It's all about match-ups and both teams match up well. They are both good everywhere. Saban is the best gameday coach which gives them a lead. It will all come down to about 10 plays or so. A couple of turnovers either way or some somewhat lucky big plays is all it takes.
