Yep, it was going all against us until that play turned the game and momentum all our way.

exception of just a couple of other instances (The Catch I & II come immediately to mind), I don't think I've ever seen the Tigers completely turn the momentum around and put an almost certain loss onto the path to victory......even the home team Wake fans knew they were going to lose despite the fact Gaines' incredible TD return only pulled Clemson to within 7 points
(I'd heard about the blocked punt against Miami all my life, but I was probably a young teen before I saw film of it on an old "Frank Howard Show")

Both ends of the spectrum, but both equally memorable.

William Perry blocking a punt

by pushing the snapper all the way back into the punter. The ball bounced backwards off the snapper's helmet. I've looked for a video of that everywhere and I can't find it. Probably because we were on probation and couldn't be on TV.

I haven't found that one either, but you are correct. That was another great play.

My favorite memory was watching William Perry push a Deacon player into his own punters way causing him to block the punt

Mine wil always be passing the Deamon Deac up through the student section during the epic season.
He, or she, was a great sport.
That was just a fun game.
Things were different back then
For one, tickets were like $10.00.
Of course students were in prime, I mean prime, seats just for being students

I'm positive it worked too. Haha .. Was actually hard to gauge what had happened in the few seconds but no doubt could tell big Gaines had it and was on the way to the house for 6 .
