Will we play a 2 guard lineup next year with Devoe gone?

PG: Shelton Mitchell SG: Marquise Reed SF: David Skaara PF: Ameer Sims C: Elijah Thomas That’s the lineup i’m thinking of, that lineup would be lockdown defensively, but would struggle offensively.

Sometimes we will...bigger concern is inside depth...

I guess William and the new freshman big guy can back up Thomas and Sims...but we will miss Donnal's steadiness there. I could see us running the 3 guard stuff with Oliver at the 3 and Skara at the 4 on occasion.
Oliver has taken a big step forward. Trapp will continue to progress and will play backup behind Mitchell and Reed. Not sure what becomes of Spencer....although he has been here longer, he seems to be behind the others. We have a couple of new freshman that could help us in the same way our current freshman have. What's tricky is to visualize what happens after Mitchell, Reed and Thomas go....we'll have players who would have had experience, but none of them would have been a 'top 3' option on offense yet.

From the looks of Donnal last weekend, I don't think we'll be missing much.

If you have watched all year, he is a solid backup...

He brings a different type of game (shoots over 40 % from three). Not a world beater, but he does what a backup needs to do. Has good experience, etc. We will need someone to step in that role next year

He can shoot well, and certainly helps stretch the floor on offense. However, he doesn't rebound well and against more physical post players tends to struggle.
Certainly glad we have him as it's a good change of pace and keeps the defense on their heels, but it's not like it will be a huge loss next year imo, aside from the experience aspect.

Skara doesn’t shoot well enough to be a starter at the 3.

Don’t forget those guys coming in with the 2018 class, especially the Newman kid, he is offensively very good and easily crack the lineup

Yes ! We do have that lineup AND
We will also have a THREE Guard lineup ...
Depends on who we are playing and/or game situation ...
Bet the three guard option offense (starting) is ...
PG: Shelton Mitchell SG: Marquise Reed SG2: Anthony Oliver II SF: David Skaara/Ameer Sims (depends, start with strongest D then its Skara) C: Elijah Thomas
We got a DEEP bench
We Toooooooooooo Deep !
Team is going to be even better next year !
Remember, you heard it first on TigerNet !

Johnny Neuman(sp?) is a big possibility at SG. But hopefully Trapp and Oliver will also be ready. Trapp will be an outstanding point guard the next 3 years, but will be PG starter for 2 years.

Sims could be best player on the floor for Clemson the next 3 years.

Interesting thread. You have to expect the Tigers to be ranked in the pre-season top 20 next year. At the moment it looks like a big drop off is coming in 2019. I've read Newman is a sleeper and that Tyson is a top shooter.

Clemson has Jemison, Newman and Tyson coming later this year. Somebody mentioned Christian Brown (5 star), Lower Richland as a late sign possibility. I also think Trey McGowens, combo guard from Hargrave Military is a candidate. What we don’t know two circumstances. Who, if any, transfers? Spencer? Second who as as incoming transfer is our staff likely to offer?
The team’s effort, exposure and overall play has made Clemson much stronger in recruiting for the immediate future. We need several key pieces to help the depth for next season.
Go Tigers!
