Re: Why does FSU want to leave?

Many ideas have been put forward as to why FSU wants to leave the ACC...NOW...Bowden never wanted to leave...fought like heck to get in...why now?..with all of the mistakes and horrors created by those scalping renegades there must a new more compelling...a non academic football centric institution needs more money...they cannot win in the ACC without buying a team then they sure as hello can't do it in the SEC...more SEC money will allow them to buy more players and reduce focus on academics such as USC many moons ago...let's face it FSU feels they are more important than everyone else in the ACC and are willing to Welch on a contract to show how important they are..we should all appreciate and enjoy their passing...now they can get Willie T back!

IMO FSU wants to more to a conference where winning is all fans care about. And a HC named Dabo who changed the culture of the ACC.

2 years before FSU hired Bobby Bowden they were considering dropping football as a Varsity Sport. Then BB came in and turned them into a big time football program. I think FSU maybe having financial problems overall and financial problems with the AD.

I think they are bluffing with having the $480 million dollars to buy their way out of the conference. I think FSU is hoping the rest of the ACC will decide not to empty their coffers fighting FSU.

Right now I think it is a who gives in first ! FSU helped carry the ACC for about 10 years Clemson has carried the ACC for so much longer. And we are still carrying the ACC.

Somewhere Swofford missed out on some opportunities that could have strengthened the football program’s. I think he always saw us as a Basketball league. Swofford and Phillips has to take responsibility for the health and current problems with the league.
