Positives to Build On
Positives to Build On After staring at the ceiling in a hotel room in Moultrie, GA Saturday night, I-75 and I-85 for a few hours Sunday, and tons of emails and texts Monday on what went wrong, I wanted to turn the page a little a look at what went right in Tallahassee. What can be built on

I feel okay about where this team is presently

Record-wise, Clemson is exactly where preseason prognosticators thought we'd be.
We were expected to lose on the road to Georgia and FSU and we did. Perhaps, we "could have" won both games, but we didn't.
So, the season begins this weekend with UNC.
There are still some pretty obvious problems that will need to be worked out, but this is a team with a tremendous upside for the remainder of 2014 and for the future going forward.

I agree it's so easy to get caught up in the moment and start bad-mouthing things. If this and if that so& so should've done this and that. The reality is stoudt didn't have Watkins and all the other highly talented players on the O are freshman. As long as t this team improves during the year then things will turn out rather nicely for this tiger team!

Question: the Beast, other than the two sacks you mentioned, I did not hear his name mentioned. In overtime, it was his position that FSU ran at. Anthony was the name that I heard over and over in what was an excellent night for your defence.

hyped players may have disappeared, he had a great game. Was disruptive most of the night. When he didn't get there for the sack, he was close. Glad to see a future 1st rounder go all out and not take plays off.

Hey, I wasn't dogging him, I realize he was playing against a proable 1st round pick, they may have started double teaming him or some other method. I just wanted to know what happened.

While disappointed with the loss and fearful of sounding like a cubs fan or dirt ######, our future is bright. So many young players stepping up and showing awesome play making abilities. These kids are going to be fun to watch for years to come.

Watson is for real

first I do not buy for a minute that Morris was afraid to let Watson go under center because they were afraid he would drop the ball or something, His philosophy got in the way. Watson is the type of player who will win games for you, not lose them. And let me add, if Morris and Swinney had the same determination, passion and attitude Watson has about winning and losing we would be 2-1. This kid is a winner, and I saw the program turn last Saturday night just like I saw when Steve Fuller went under center back in the 70s. Morris, trust the kid, he is what was advertised and he will win a lot of games for us. Let me add, Venables gets it....

Very good points. I agree with everything you say.
But, let's do one thing while we have the benefit of hindsight.
Let's have the ball 2nd & Goal back on the 1 foot line and let's put Watson under center for the first time since well, maybe forever ... he fumbles the snap because he's never been under center and Morris is now fielding questions about why in the world he took Watson away from his strength at that critical juncture.
Honestly, I don't know what play was actually called on the botched snap, but Watson kept earlier in the game and scored easily from in close.
