FYI for those that didn't hear, Kyle Cottham is in the desert this week to see what he can do to qualify for Canadian Tour. Good luck to Kyle.
Kian is taking his spot at the Valspar. Good luck to him as well. Hopefully his back will hold out. Obviously he felt he could go.
@cwby posted on another thread that Ivy Sheppard with our Lady Linksters has quit the team. I thought she was just injured.

But fyi for those that didn't.
It was done after clover but before reserves. I was so hoping the conversation would come up but it didn't. Anyway, I feel certain if she'd been injured mia, it would have been mentioned. All Hester said was young team, they call Callista grandma yada yada.
He talked about Alice going to Augusta and Grewal going in a few weeks. Very telling it was no mention of Ivy. Good interview - posted on our main page. We're a young program and a young team. You can tell the Dabo influence of family first, character, student values and not all about golf.

No Monday qualifiers for our Tigers this week. Nottingham came very close, but the others were off the mark. I'm thinking Nimmer had to be pretty exhausted after finishing up in the Dominican Republic yesterday and teeing off this morning in Georgia.

Welp, we stunk the first round up almost as bad as we could. 13th place of 15 teams.
Next to last in birdies made coupled with 12th in par 4 scoring and almost last in par 3 scoring is not the recipe you want. But the good news.
Every hole matters. 18 hasn't been very tough for most teams... In fact several birdies and mostly pars. Jacob- triple bogey Kian-quadruple bogey. Card 2 pars there, we're tied 5th place. Ugh.

event Jacob has had a great 2nd round . . . Shooting -8 to go with his opening -4 has him tied for 2nd Overall!!!
Our Tigers are finishing up . . . I wish I could have seen Pendley and Rose play the 300 yard Par 4., Hole #6 . . . both EAGLED IT!!!!!!!

Thankfully Jacob had a great day shooting -12 130 because the rest of the team had over par scores on the scoreboard.Without Jacob the team score most likely would have been even closer to last place.Hopefully the the guys will play tomorrow like we know they are capable of playing and help Jacob out with the team score.

Missing our birdie machine Kyle. These courses are usually ones he plays well. Time for Colby to get into the action with a great round.
Could get interesting if they can get it going and beat the field with a low score. Obviously no one's touching peppy - less a major collapse. But after the opening round mess (2 uncharacteristic holes) a top 5 finish and hopefully medalist honors for Jacob would be spectacular...

Started great but they were the easy holes. Just a tease and Jacob cooled so far. Hopefully he can get a streak going over the last 7. But the peppy kid is firing and hasn't even played the easy holes.
Might be our worst finish of the year... Just like our ladies last weekend. Threw a teaser, then crashed. Hopefully both can make something good happen in the ACC tourneys. We're a good team but not the great team I thought we could be with the seniors and +seniors.

Not the finish we were hoping for, but a good effort by the team.
A T3 finish for Jacob is very impressive. It just felt like it could have been more based on the first two rounds. Oh well, we should find out tomorrow if last week's win moves him up in the PGA TOUR University rankings, and then next Wednesday we'll find out what this T3 finish does for him as well.

Fantastic! If he can get a 1 or 2 rank bump from this week, he'll be set up nice to make a run for in the next few weeks. Medalist in the ACC tournament would probably bump him to 5th depending on what the guys in front do.

Probably odds on favorite to win it again. That's what top 10 rated recruiting will do for you. They definitely compete with Oklahoma and OK ST for the top recruits the past 5 or 6 years. Coach beard has really brought the program back up.
As is any sports, all about the Jimmy and Joes, Sarah and janes.
