NCST in Raleigh, 1966. Buddy Gore & Ray Yauger at RB. CU won 24-19, I was hooked as a kid. My oldest brother was a freshman at CU in 1966.

I was sophomore. Me and buddy drove over for the game. Sat in west end zone stands. When we came out from the embarrassing loss there was a semi trailer backed up to the gate selling t-shirts with the score and “Clemson still sucks” right under the score.
Was a long ride home but even longer walk to the car through the rabid dawg victors.

Not sure the year but it was in Athens in the early 70s when I was in college. Once among all the drunks was enough for me. Next was my first bowl game when we played Pitt in the Gator in 1977.

Depends on how you define it. Either way it was UNC. I grew up a UNC fan before I saw the light. I saw Clemson beat UNC in '81 as a UNC fan on the way to their National Championship and then I saw them lose in '89 after I grew up.

Was halfway up the 3rd endzone deck, sight line was at point about couldn't see goal line when Davis punched it in for GW TD, capping the famous 1st & 35 drive. Then had SC guy get into it w/ another Clemson guy when went final, which I ended up helping break up.
But got to make great weekend of it. My brother was stationed @ Shaw & got picked to work security, so got to spend a good weekend w/ him before going home & getting early start on Thanksgiving break. He rubs it in to this day his location (on field, in front of Clemson band/fan section in lower level, w/ cheerleaders from both teams on either side of him), & we still laugh about the drunk girl in hooker heels we saw biff it when she hit that pothole on our long walk back to his car afterward.

I had the best sports weekend ever.... 1995 at G Tech. Freshman at Clemson, 7 of my buddies and I load up into two cars and we go watch Clemson beat G Tech 24-3 on Saturday morning.
That night was game six of the World Series for the Braves vs Cleveland Indians. We went to Fulton County Stadium to party, but didn't have tickets. We get there around the third inning and jump a curb and park in the media parking lot. We are walking around the stadium and notice that there was a ten yard wide gate and only one ticket attendant standing in front of it and we huddle up, think no way he gets us all and we rush the gate. The guy gives up and we all get into the game to see David Justice hit the home run to win the World Series.... Buckhead for celebration after that.
Next day, go see the Cowboys in town vs the Falcons. It was Deion Sanders first game as a Cowboy in his old home town. Got the tickets from Emory Smith.
That was a pretty good sports weekend and a great way to start of my first semester freshman year at Clemson !!!!

Lost 13-9 when Lott decided to throw it out of bounds on 4th down. Marvin Sims carried us down the field on the last drive.
Then went to Peach Bowl where we lost to Baylor and Mike Singletary. One of the coldest games I’ve ever been to. So I was 0-2 in first two games away from DV.

ACC Championship Game vs VT 2011. Had the family with me and a drunk Hokie was behind us shaking his key chain calling Clemson "bums" the whole first half. First half was tight. I was on the verge of punching the guy in the mouth but Sammy and Tajh shut him up for me. He left early...

E and a buddy were freshmen and bought seats on a bus chartered by a fraternity (that we were not affiliated with). Big mistake, but we still managed to have a good time. A couple of the losers on that trip broke into Cole Field House and stole the name plate off of Len Bias’s locker. Bias died that summer while I was at freshman orientation.

1989. Clemson vs FSU. I was stationed at Moody AFB, Georgia, so it was only about an hour and half drive to the game. Clemson won 34-23. It was great. At time, I was attending as many home games as I could, but not a season ticket holder yet. The drive was bit long and required an overnight.
