I read this article a few minutes ago in The State. Great article about him and the Clemson program. I love that it’s in The State so Carolina fans can read it and gnash their teeth....wail and weep with frustration.

We have talked about Jackson's weight on here before, and we all had our views on how Carman was going to handle his weight and maintain. I know that my memory isn't what it was 20 years ago but, I think that most of us felt that for Carman to make it, he would have to mature and become a man in a Man's arena. This story tells that he has done exactly that with the help of his teammates being honest and upfront with Jackson.
I say good for Jackson Carman that he has become accountable, and he could be another one of our great Tigers... Jackson has done what the Clemson coaching staff advertise daily, they turn young men into responsible adults, and Jackson bought into what they were teaching, and he is now a plus member for his team that depended on Jackson, and he didn't let them down!!!

Great story. When you hear about how great Clemson develops its’ players, to me, this is a prime example of it. In this case, it was as much his peers as anything.

Tigers have a standard, it applies to everyone, there are no entitlements on this team! That's what works, the players put the pressure on one another, you will work to our standard or you won't play, be a part of this team! Believe that is why the young man Belk didn't cut it at Clemson, believe all his health, an momma's sick were excuses! Tiger's coaching staff do a great job of instilling the standard and from there the players can police themselves! That's why we are no longer losing the game we shouldn't lose! Believe we in for a beat down today, Go Tigers!!!
