Time will tell, but don't forget Dabo initially

chose Napier as OC. He finally fixed that issue by hiring Chad Morris.
But then Dabo/Morris named Stoudt as the starter after Spring practices. Enough said.
All I am saying, is that Dabo makes mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes are rooted in loyalty.
The risk in naming Scott/Elliot as Co-OC, is if it doesn't work out, he will probably have to fire one if not both, and then that hurts recruiting, because they are both great in that aspect.
Not sure I would risk DW4's 2 years here on someone who has never called a game at the FBS level. DW4 is special, like Sammy Watkins/CJ Spiller special.
Here is hoping for the best. Go Tigers.

He was a very very young coach, so not like big time OC's were going to flock to him in his first year

Also Vic was way too passive and conservative for what Dabo wanted. He wanted a pressure, pressure, and pressure some more in your face attack. Vic lays back in a 4-2-5 and plays zone. Dabo had to force him to blitz at the end of 2008.

2010, the whole season was derailed with AE hurt and an illegal late hit vs Auburn. Not to mention Dye and Jones couldn't catch a cold and Nuk was the only WR on that team with a crap that year.

Napier Was Good At First

Heck, Billy was pretty good with Spiller, Ford, Palmer, Ellington, Harper, and a healthy Parker. With the players Clemson has assembled X and O's will be of little consequence as it was in 2009. In 2010 when teams figured out we had no receivers and Parker was spooked beyond repair Napier looked lost. Then Ellington went down and the rest is history. Pretty sure Napier would have looked pretty good with the bunch Morris had from 2011-2013. Dabo didn't have the clout to say "Billy's my guy and I'm living and dying with him" back then. Remember Bowden went down protecting Spence and Dabo witnessed it first hand. Chad did a really good job and is a good coach. But remember it's way more about Jimmy's and Joe's. Jeff and Tony will do just fine with DW4 and company.

Morris was a proven FBS OC, even if it was 1 year. He took fricking Tulsa to top 10 in offense in his first year. To say it was because of who he had around him is not giving Morris enough credit.
I think most Tiger fans don't want "just fine". They want greatest Clemson offense ever, and DW4 has the ability to deliver that.

Totally different situation. We had no identity then.
Now we have "our offense" and this is how he plans to keep the cohesiveness and make sure we don't skip a beat. Now instead of DW learning from a new OC it will be a seamless transition.
