So a scholarship has opened up with the departure of Kellen Jones. I know we're pretty deep at linebacker, but Roquan Smith has reopened his recruiting and will not attend UCLA. Worth going after?

repeated injuries to Peake and Blanks and the fact that Muse may play baseball , I would think those areas would be the priority with an additional scholarship.

Ship will go to Johnson if he qualifies. Our coaches had already anticipated the open spot and planned accordingly.

Johnson? As in Coach Johnson? As in GT? We don't want that. It's definitely a longshot anyway because we never made him a big priority, but I would think he's worth the extra effort.

we still have 86 scholarship players on the roster, even after Kellen Jones left. I know there is likely to be more atrition by Sept. 1st, but we are actually one over the limit as of right now.

Of those 84, two are walk-ons...

That is Schuessler and CJ Davidson. It says walk-on scholarships are granted year-by-year. If Teasdall is projected to be our starting punter, it is possible Dabo wants to save a scholarship for a guy who has earned it (like Teasdall). The rules are not clear to me, but I think technically all three of those schollies are available if Dabo so chooses (but I don't think he would take away these given his history).

I can see that, but Oliver Jones & Rod Byers are not on the list. Have they left the program? If so,I missed the news. Please respond if you know for sure they are gone. Kellen Jones has already been removed from the list.

Jones is gone due to injuries; We are at 84 -- add the punter and leave CJ on scholly then we are at 85. If one of those is not on scholly then Trapp more than likely starts classes in the fall and doesn't grayshirt.

One or the other of us has had too much to drink. Rod Byers is NOT on that list, at least not on my computer screen when I click on the link. Maybe you have a better computer.
