I wouldn't discount Rusty's CB. He usually doesn't throw those out unless he's confident....especially with a 6.
Look it is what it is...UGA just won a NC, they have a history of producing good backs, and more alumni hence more NIL money. Cook and white are gone. Depth chart is little more favorable for him at uga. Milton and McIntosh are coming back and they're bringing in Robinson. At Clemson unless he's all world he's definitely behind Shipley, Pace and Mafah. His avenue to playing time is easier at uga.

That’s not the reason. He got offered a grey shirt back in October, meaning he would be on scholly the following season after his freshman year. Then all the fall out happened with the decommits and had more schollies than anticipated, this the full offer now. Calm down

Keith Adams Jr.'s best offer besides us is from USF. I'm not trying to disparage this kid, but there's a reason we offered him this late. I'm sure TNet will tell us he's a diamond in the rough though and way better than Paul.

Doubt anyone currently available would come in and move up past Shipley, Pace, and Mafah on the depth chart
We need a depth guy who's willing to stick around, not anybody who will be looking to transfer in a year or 2 because they're still 4th on depth chart.
Is Adams jr all that different than having a Darien Rencher on scholarship?

Remember when we played UCONN with only Mafah and Rencher? You would think this past season would have been an indication on how important depth is. But, sure, let’s roll with 3 RBs and pray none of them get hurt.

The mentality on this board sometimes is asinine

So we have such studs at RB that we can't recruit anyone else? What are people smoking? Just look at any decent powerhouse and it never stops them.
Offering Adams is a move of desperation whether or not anyone else wants to admit it.
We are on deep fallbacks across the board and none more glaring than at RB and DE.

The problem isn't that "we can't recruit anyone else" it's that there's so few left to be recruited with the early signing period.
A quick glance at 247 I counted 3 uncommitted RBs in the top 50 RBs and one of those is Andrew Paul who we are recruiting.
My point was more that we really don't have playing time to offer for possibly a few years (outside of injury and of course we're telling guys if they're better they'll play but still)
If a guy comes in and transfers in a year or 2 like Bowman did we're right back in the same boat without depth guys like Rencher / Adams Jr

I'll agree that offering Adams is a move of desperation. Other than that I am a little unclear.
First, it is not just the quality of running backs that we have but the youth. When Shipley and Mafah would just be a year ahead and Pace 2 anybody but an elite RB is bound to have second thoughts, and many of them would.
What powerhouses? Georgia, Bama and OSU? Who are all of these powerhouses that have a trio of backs as talented and as young as us. There maybe a handful but I'm not sure there are any. I think the portal is our better bet to try to find someone with only a year or 2 left to get things more balanced class wise. Don't know who we might be able to find but it would be nice.
What do you mean by deep fallbacks? At RB we have the aforementioned 3 and Will Taylor could probably be used in some ways in an emergency situation. We will add somebody else, but any team that gets into their 4th or 5th back is probably going to be in trouble. Last year we had a rash of transfers to go with injuries. I'll be surprised if transfers are an issue this year.
At DE we have Henry, XT, Murphy, and I am guessing Bresee on a lot of occasions this year considering our depth at DT. Then it goes to Mascoll, Greg Williams, and I think Swint is supposed to be adjusting. How deep do you think we need to be?
We have a few depth issues, but I don't see them at DE or RB.

You obviously have issue with Clemson and their coaching staff so go find another team if you don’t like it. You will not be missed if that is your choice. You have the feel of a person that would fit right in with the cooterville clan!

The staff had tunnel vision on Trevor Etienne and whiffed. Henderson and Robinson were never going to happen and the RB board should have been expanded months ago.

Paul would be #2 in their class. On top of the fact that they forced out a commit they realized they no longer liked. Paul would be our #1 RB in the class. We absolutely should not lose this battle.

I really do trust 247’s ratings, they do a good job ( not the composite). 87, while not bad, is nothing to get too upset about.

Oh I’m not worried about missing on some stud. I know the kid isn’t likely to be an All American but we need depth. We definitely shouldn’t be forced to only get a preferred walkon 2* as our lone back we take in 2022. That’s really to point I’m trying to make.

Why don’t we wait to see you here he decides before all that he handwringing? If he comes, great. If not, we swing for the fences next cycle. It’s no like we don’t already have good backs here. As said, he would be depth and maybe an option in a couple of years.

Georgia literally showed no interest until after he had offer from us & came on OV to us. When he decided to go to Georgia instead of ND/Oregon for final OV that definitely was red flag. Hope I'm wrong, but just don't like how this played out.
Adams always had an offer. Went from greyshirt offer to 2022 w/ the scholly space. Guessing either dip into portal for another or if they're is another uncommitted RB they think they can pick up.
