The goal should be to crown a champion as determined by a process of elimination by winning on the field. Like every other sport.
Those are two very different things. One is possible, one is not.

Be honest, after last week against Auburn did you really think 'Bama would beat Georgia after needing 4th and 31 to beat a bad Auburn team?

I thought the entire reason that we went from the BCS to the Playoff was so actual humans could take the subjectivity out of the selection process that was so bad with the BCS. Apparently not.

Next year and going forward should be better. There will still be some subjectivity but having the Top 6 highest ranked conference champions get the first 6 slots and then the next 6 highest ranked teams getting in, should assure most of the better teams are getting a slot. There will always be debates but it is much more difficult when you only have 4 slots and a lot of really good teams in the mix for those coveted slots.

Polls are similar.
I would prefer all teams line up in the new year where they were last ranked in the past year.
They earned that.
Instead polls are predictions by idiots of what will transpire.
CFB Playoff is a mix of idiots and reality.

Agreed. How many times are there better teams in the NFL that do not win a superbowl? It's not a matter of opinion its a matter of on field results, period. College football is dying and this might accelerate that death.
