Because 80,000 people is the threshold for Clemson winning?

That's literally the stupidest comment I've ever read on here and I've read a lot of dumb ones. With the exception of the chicken coop and FSU, we rarely play in stadiums with 80,000 people. Virginia Tech is louder and hostile than both those places, though, and we won there in 2011.

It's been a few years now...but that really doesn't have much bearing. Unfortunately, the ACC only has two 80k+ stadiums with one of those being ours, so we only have 1-2 opportunities per year depending on whether we're at FSU or South Carolina.
Not sure what your point is though. I'm not so sure you can blame any lack of success in Tallahassee or Columbia on crowd noise.

I really dont have any idea how good we'll be. with a new qb and some new OL and wr I cant tell. On D I think we will be pretty solid. I always temper my expectations as each year is a whole new ballgame

This is what I'm hoping for also and who knows crab man could be a one hit wonder. FSU is losing a lot of their playmakers from last year.

Going in I would say 2 or 3 is the most likely.

I wouldn't consider unc or Louisville

Big games. We might lost those games this year because of losing some playmakers, we will have to wait and see how their replacements play. But in normal years we should beat unc and Louisville. We don't lose to the mid tier teams anymore. In my mind we have 3 big games.

UNC will definitely be Top 25 going into the year. Seeing as the three games prior to ours are against Liberty, San Diego State, and East Carolina, there's a very good chance they come into Death Valley and ranked in the mid-teens.
I'd say that counts as a big game.
Louisville may not come into the season with a ton of acclaim, but their schedule prior to our matchup is relatively bare outside of the Miami game and they've got a headline coach who's known more for his strategy than his recruiting (meaning he's got a higher chance to make waves with the talent he's got there). There's a decent chance they come to DV with a 4-1 record or maybe even 5-0.

If beating Liberty, San Diego State, and East Carolina moves a team in to teens in any poll, it's gonna be a long season.

They're likely going to start in the teens and they're probably not going to drop before week 4 (unless they lose of course). That's what I meant. Many polls have them ranked in the 15-16 range preseason.

So if your going to take games in which a team should be favored as not big games, then your coots only have 3 big games as well.
Georgia, Auburn, Clemson.
You could throw in Florida and A&M as your other 2 decent games, but y'all should win both those by your logic so they don't really count. Right?
And don't give me some BS about Florida is so great, or Tennessee is building, etc.
Y'all better watch out for East Carolina, they return a lot of starters, along with their QB. They might come out pumped.

I would say most college teams have about this many, unless you play 2 really tough out of conference opponents.

and/or maybe FSU. That would be satisfactory to me given that it'll be early in the season with a new starting QB. Losses to UNC, UL, and cootercocks will not be tolerated.
