It is installed over a geotextile fabric and underdrain system made of crushed gravel and leveling sand.

There's about a 1 foot wide strip running down the fence lines, you can see it if you go to the left field area where Smokin' Pig sets up shop.

I personally love the collar around the plate. It SCREAMS College Baseball to me FWIW.

Doug Kingsmore Stadium is about to get more upgrades. There is a presentation from competing construction companies happening today I'm not sure if the actual field is impacted in this, but I hope the AstroTurf is one of the components being upgraded.
