Feb 25, 2014, 6:13 PM

Seen it twice, one from 2 rows behind home plate

Feb 25, 2014, 7:58 PM [ in reply to No it's not ]

on opening day...it's field turf. Which begs the question...have YOU actually seen it?

Sorry man...but that was kind of a shot when you obviously don't have any proof to back it up...

It is installed over a geotextile fabric and underdrain system made of crushed gravel and leveling sand.

They should take the same approach as football...

Feb 25, 2014, 5:32 PM

and put field turf down for all of foul territory.

or at least a good ways down the lines.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They have it on the very edges

Feb 27, 2014, 11:15 AM

There's about a 1 foot wide strip running down the fence lines, you can see it if you go to the left field area where Smokin' Pig sets up shop.

Your program is good enough to require multiple upgrades to Kingsmore.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Feb 25, 2014, 8:01 PM

But please, keep letting the "excellent" feed on TigerCast online give you all the details. lol.

I personally love the collar around the plate. It SCREAMS College Baseball to me FWIW.

Doug Kingsmore Stadium is about to get more upgrades. There is a presentation from competing construction companies happening today I'm not sure if the actual field is impacted in this, but I hope the AstroTurf is one of the components being upgraded.
