I disagree with many on here who claim Clemson not a playoff team. I believe Clemson is a playoff team from a talent standpoint. But the only area I see inexperience is coaching Brandon Streeter/Dabo cost Clemson that game at notre dame. I think Clemson goes 13-1 ACC champions and wins orange bowl. But we will look at this season and know only reason we didn’t make playoffs is because of bad play calling at Notre dame. Can’t run 90% screens and beat a solid team. Hopefully we celebrate 13-1 as if we won a national championship because I believe the talent is there to beat Ohio state TCU Tennessee and Michigan. I think Georgia probably number 1.

That’s who I think the best is in order based on Talent. As fans we can’t control bad play calling.

Not defending Streeter in the least, however I hate this narrative that play calling is the only reason teams lose. Coaches don't overthrow players coaches don't miss blocks coaches don't whiff on a blitz, coaches don't fumble. It's the coach's job to put the players in the best position to win. That is where the coaching staff fails. But the players are also at fault because they don't execute plays. There's a reason why football is a team sport it's because it takes everyone as a whole to win or lose. To say the only reason Clemson doesn't make the playoff is because bad play calling at Notre Dame to me is kind of crazy. Not preparing a backup to play when you know going into the season the starter is not the best contributes to that. Defensive players being out of position and letting 250 yards run up on them contributes to that. Not making the playoffs is not on one offensive coach because there's someone above him who has veto power on every play that is called. I think offensive play calling is limited because of the ability of what the starting quarterback is comfortable doing . And that's not Streeter's fault that he continues to be the starter every week. Can Streeter call different plays, yes absolutely, but maybe that's what DJ is comfortable doing and Streeter is trying not to make matters worse. Again not defending him in the least because his play calling sometimes is questionable, however football is a team sport and there's someone above him who makes the final call and there's players below him who have to execute those calls. But Brandon Streeter is not the only reason Clemson will not make the playoffs this year.
