Swinney on WR redshirts

I had noticed this morning with the Clemson-FSU participation report that Ronan Hanafin had played his third game and a second in a row with special teams work, and Clemson coach Dabo Swinney confirmed on his call-in show that Hanafin will not redshirt this year. Swinney said he brings something to that special teams group that the team needs.

Swinney says that the plan is still to redshirt Noble Johnson and Misun Kelley, however.

I don’t see the point of redshirting anyone who is good enough to play. Players can transfer on a whim and the best leave early anyway. Never gonna get five years. Play them while you got them.
