I mean why not though.. Cade is starting orange bowl Hunter is backup just in case. DJ would be third string next year why wait around when he can find out if someone will give him a shot or if he will join his brother. He’s got no reason to waste time not looking at his options and I ain’t going to lie I’d rather Hunter be the man waiting to go in if something happens and we need to go to the backup

Good point. The portal is now just as cutthroat as high school recruiting. If DJ wants his name on a roster, he needs to do it sooner than later.

the best option IMO.
Actually, it's usually best for an organization for a demoted leader to remove or be removed. That, plus, DJ will probably be happier closer to his home turf. Best wishes to him, and thanks for his efforts.

The window for the portal opens tomorrow so, of course, DJ is going to move forward. Do you really think he and Dabo haven't been talking about this for quite some time? This is no surprise and no betrayal. Dabo said back in the fall that DJ was graduating in December and he and DJ had a plan. He did not offer any further explanation but I think we now understand what he meant.
No need to raise an issue that isn't there. I'm sure this is all being handled internally the right way and was well thought out and communicated early on.

I’m sure this was discussed prior to the championship game. DJ has been nothing but class. He’s represented the program as good as someone possibly can. Hopefully he finds the right fit, and can become the player he wants to be.
