Unproven coach, 8-4/9-3 at best, and absolutely no shot at an SEC title... much less a National title. Clemson or LSU much better choices.

I mean, I completely get not wanting to follow in the footsteps of his brother at Clemson. I never fretted about THAT. LSU also had/has issues. He'll be fine. Napier may be unproven at a P5, but I think he'll get it going at UF eventually. Not that I give a single F about UF, but if I was a UF fan, I would have a lot more faith in him than any of their hires post Urban.

His mom moved to Florida part-time to be with her boys. He went to Florida so he could be close to his brother and mom.
He said he didn’t want to follow his brother and be compared when he could make his own way and be close enough to see his brother and mom. He went their to be close to family according to his interviews.

Napier is hardly unproven. UF has won two nattys in the last 20 years so there is no ceiling. Gainesville is close to Jacksonville so he can hang with Trevor. He wanted to make his own way instead of following his brother. Immediate playing time at UF but not at Clemson.

Because as great as he has been this season, he would have maybe 30 carries if he would have come here. That's the beginning, middle and end of the story.
