Who can kick it over 35 yards , next season’s team could be the best Clemson team ever. Top to bottom the best

Our punter averaged 40 yards a punt this year, so I think we have that taken care of.

Plus he nailed many inside the 20. Averaged 52 yds vs Louisville. He has the leg. I agree, we're just fine.

Only thing is, I would be curious to know what his avg would be minus the rolls after the punt. Would be hard to come up with that number, but I would bet it would be closer to 32-35 yds per punt. Go back and look at the footage, don't take my word for it.

That's kinda like saying a given RB's total would be lower if you take his two long runs out of the equation.
They count.

Uhhh....no it isn't the same. Avg High school punters who will never play college ball can punt the ball 40 yds with no return or catch.

You can "Uhhh...no" all you want. They count.
Not sure what high school games you watch, but that is not the case in the AAAA schools that I watch on a weekly basis.

Most of the rollers were by design- depending on field position and who the returner is they call for a rugby. Most of the time that was not the case. He had a really good FR year. He will only improve on that. Didn't he nail a punt out inside the 5 against the Coots that led to the pick 6 and the rout was on? Seems like another game(UL maybe) he was not only booming them but putting their backs against the wall over and over. Believe he had some leg soreness down the stretch he was dealing with. He's a FR kicking in his 14th game by the time NO took place.

I agree, he did a good job during the season. David Hood said he had a pulled hamstring during the championship game.

Probably from kicking too much. Good thing we had those two INT's to help rest his leg a little.

If he was injured that could explain. He had an ok year but he was HORRIBLE in N.O.

Spiers' hangtime is pretty below average and he shanked some in big games, but this was his first year on the job. Potter, who can also punt, will give him a run for his money, imo.

Will Spiers performed marvelously for us this year as a punter and his bad punts were minimal at best. I am very satisfied with his efforts this year. BTW, I grew up with a former Clemson punter (Andy Newell) and if he's satisfied, I'm satisfied.
