Spectrum/Disney Dispute

How many others are not going to see the Opening Weekend of College Football because of Charter Spectrum's pathetic argument with the company that owns the vast majority of Entertainment Content in America at the moment?
I've switched from Spectrum to AT&T (of which I'm no big fan) but will not begin receiving their service until Wednesday. In the meantime, I'm pretty certain that I'll be able to access the ESPN App via my new AT&T account.
Let's face it. Full Games appear on YouTube within moments of their actual completion. Television Providers (both Charter and AT&T) would LOVE to STOP PROVIDING TELEVISION. This is, most likely, a problem only for old folks like myself.
Hope y'all all get to watch it real! Hope it KICKS ###!
GO TIGERS!!!

Okay. Nevermind. See reference in previous post to "Age Related Stupidity". Allow me, however, to point out that I've had access to The Internet since before some of you were born (1986). News Alert: It sucked back then, too. At the same time, it was tremendously better than it is now.
Sorry to have bothered you all.

I hope I don't watch TV 24/7 when I retire in 5 years

Heaven forbid if I have to read a book right. I think I'll do more of that. The first TV I remember as a kid was a 13" black and white console TV that weighed a couple hundred pounds. Then we got a 19" color TV and it was like a whole new world with its 4 channels. Now people would laugh at that.
Maybe we should all go outside more and breath some fresh air, do some yard work, check out some fall foliage, walk around, whatever. Life is short, play hard.

Haven't you heard, to breath fresh air, you have to move to the Alaskan wilderness!!! Or buy an oxygen pump and turn the poisonous gases into fresh air!!!

YouTube TV is best option. Also add an HDTV antenna to get ABC, cBS Fox and NBC directly too (these antenna have gotten cheap and now workreally good from inside the house). If a game is on one of the main networks I watch it via my HD antenna because the quality is maximum over streaming because there is no compressing and decompressing of the digital feed for bandwidth reasons like in streaming.

Just do the free trial for YouTube TV or Hulu TV and cancel once you get hooked up with AT&T...
Just don't cancel your spectrum internet. I cut the cord years ago, but still have spectrum internet that does cost a lot without their TV subscription...

game on my TV unless the dispute is resolved.
Frankly, I think the timing of the blackout is disreputable at best, despicable at worst; however, I am not going to allow myself to get in a frenzy. If I don't go out, I'll just simply do what I did for many years when I couldn't attend games: listen to the radio, the only problem being my missing Jim Phillips' broadcasts. Friends have suggested various remedies, but I don't want the hassle.
Who's the villian in the dispute? Both Disney and Spectrum IMO, and I think both deserve some type of stiff penalties, and I'm not talking chump change. That's because a whole lot of people have the service primarily for the sports. Secondly, the blackout timing on Thursday night was not by coincidence: one or both of the varmints are trying to force public outrage. This whole TV bullmalarkey in this country is a festering sore upon our society held captive by megacorporations which operate under a principle of greed...pure, unadulterated greed. Who among us older folks thought they'd be paying $150-200 or more a month to watch frigging TV?
I was over 40 before I ever had cable, which was about $25 monthly tops; over 60 before I had internet or a cell phone. How in the freaking world did I survive all those years prior, I'll never know...for God's sake! lol.........

They could have continued to provide the content while negotiations continued. They chose to pull the sports away. If you read the issues, Spectrum arguement is much more persuasive. Add ESPN and their woke, racist, announcers, and you understand why viewership is down and they are firing people. Now they make a money grab at Spectrum and thus our expense. Volume down, price going up, forcing them to charge people for packages and channels we don’t want anyway. I already did not like NIL and transfer rules, the woke agenda, realignment, etc. now we can’t watch our games. Means more golf and fishing. At some point it will become like baseball for me. I check the scores and don’t watch the games. Sad days. But heading toward ambivalence. Never thought that would happen.
