I have to disagree. Sure he had much better stats but he also had Nuk, Sammy and Dwayne Allen AT THE SAME TIME.
If Tajh Boyd were on this team he'd have been sacked 30 times by now.
Interesting comparison though.

DW and Tevor had different cast of characters too. I still think they are much better than Cade and would do better with this team. Tajh is not DW or Trevor but I do agree with the comment that he is better than Cade.

At this point, yeah, Tajh was the better QB.
Tajh started as a redshirt sophomore, not a true sophomore, so there's that.
Hope it doesn't stay that way.

Tajh got hit hard by LSU in that bowl game and even lost Sammy Watkins on the opening drive. But he hung in there and made great plays with his arm and feet to pull out the victory. Might take a while before we see this kind of performance from a Clemson qb.

I’d take Tajh over Cade! Cade has shown me nothing since he got here. The guy does not have the ability to make good decisions at quarterback on this level.

No purpose in talking about a comparison now. Tahj is one our best and one of the ACC's best ever and Cade has done nothing yet. Give Cade another year and then look at it.

And was the beginning of something very special building at Clemson. You could say the "Dandy Dozen" were the building blocks, foundation even, for what we did from 2015-2020 and will hopefully get back to doing soon.
As Ben Boulware famously quoted after the championship, this is for all those guys before us and specifically mentioned Tajh among a few others.
Tajh was special and in absolutely no way is he comparable to Cade Klubnik, it is not even worth the thought to compare them.

Tajh is in the top five of Clemson QBs all-time. You dang right he's better than Cade as I don't even think he's in the conversation for top 15 as it stands now.
For those who say, "he's young; he's got time"--I knew Lawrence was top five by game four.

I will say Tajh was turnover heavy, but mostly from trying to initiate offense, not many were just toss ups and prayers like we have seen several times from Cade in just 7 games.
Cade can be great, so I get where you are coming from. He just is not picking up the college game and seems to be behind in his ability to process the game in real time. Sometimes you can work on that and fix it, sometimes it just is something that will never get better.
Career wise Tajh will still dwarf his numbers, but maybe Cade can get better and take our Tigers to the top of the Mountain yet again.
Go Cade, Go Tigers, and thank you Tajh for being a Clemson man!!

He was much better at reading the defense after the snap especially the DE. Tajh was incomparably stronger in the legs in trunk and much more difficult to sak. He was as tough as nails and had what the maroons who talk for a living call 'escapability.'
I can see how someone would say that but imo, they are impossible to compare due to personell, OCs and other major factors. First being, we remember Tajh's last couple years when we were loaded with talent at WR. Unless I'm mistaken that deadly wheel route,e early in Tajh's playing days here , was thrown to CJ who simply ran fast enough to catch up with an overthrown ball. He was the only man on the planet who could time an overthrow like that, I believe.
Better than Cade? Let's wait a couple years and see how Cade turns out.

good grief - trying to say who is better when one had a full career(diff team also) with probably close to 40 starts and the other is about to start his 8th game. That’s as dumb as some of our fans calling some of our FR and SO busts. Those labels should only come out in retrospect if at all.

At this point in their careers, TB10 could read the defense well enough to be effective with the RPO. He also adapted to the speed of the game. He had the WRs that could go get footballs and not drop them, so that has to factored in for comparing the passing. Cade might be a little more accurate, but again the speed of the game has his timing off.

As of right now… Tajh is absolutely the better QB. It doesn’t matter who he was throwing to… it’s not his fault he had great skill guys around him.
As others have said Tajh was no DW4 or TLaw but he’s been better than any other guy we’ve had besides those 2 since we had Woody dazzling us.
Honestly it’s really to early to compare but if what we’ve seen so far is any indication… Cade will never even sniff Tajhs accomplishments.

IMO, Tajh was a better QB. His only downfall was he never beat SCU. He was not as good as Watson or Lawrence, but I think he threw a better long ball than either of them. There are similarities between the Tajh and Klubnik, though. They are/were both accurate but they both make/made decisions that make you scratch your head. They both have an ACC championship trophy. Tajh had a much better OL and way more talent surrounding him than Klubnik. Tajh was at the beginning of the upward trajectory that turned us into an elite program. He had big wins over FSU, Ohio St, and LSU. We are not elite right now, but my hope is, like Tajh, Klubnik is at the helm of another upward trajectory to greatness.

Tajh was very good. People remember many of the great games he had. He was awful against FSU and the #####. That keeps him from the top tier of Clemson QBs of the forward pass is acceptable era of Clemson football. He is in the next tier down from DW, Trevor and Woody. Cade still has a chance to be in that second tier, it is a very high bar to get in the top tier.

DW4 was better than TL. DW4 balled out in both his NCs and had Thompson not botched the onside kick DW4 would have 2 rings. DW4 also put the team on his back to win us numerous games. Trevor was great but he had a better team around him on both sides of the ball. Also Trevor completely choked in NOLA, I was there and was convinced it was a body double.
But on the main thread, too early to tell on CK2 vs Tajh,
And it depends on which Tajh, he got in his own head a few times and that was hard for him to shake (ala FSU debacle). CK2 seems to be more resilient thus far

Cade has 8 starts under his belt. He will get better, especially as the OLine and WR's get better. We are experiencing growing pains with a freshman QB that is constantly under pressure and doesn't have the talent around him our other QB's since Trevor left.
