favorite childhood tigers....

im walking down memory lane and im thinking about my favorite tigers from when i was growing up. just wondering who y'alls favorite players were when you were young Clemson fans and why.
mine - 1. antwuan wyatt (my favorite player, because my name is wyatt) 2. mal lawyer (i remember being upset because he wasnt going to be on the roster when he graduated) 3. raymond priester (i saw him drag about 5 maryland defenders about 15 yards) 4. tony horne (punt return in cola, '97, cheered for the rams solely because of him) 5. brian dawkins (no explanation needed)

I remember listening to the Tigers play on my little AM radio. Led us to back-back ACC championships in '66-'67.

Priester.
Had the joy of meeting him a few times through Coach Doolittle @ 96.
Doolittle coached him in high school before coming to 96 and those two remained close. Raymond would come visit us on occasion.

Tony Horne, Emry Smith, Brian Dawkins,
I was in High School when Woody was playing so I don't count him as a "childhood" Tiger for me.

I love hearing the names of icons like Fred Cone and imagining what it would have been like to watch them play, but also, I hear names that I have never heard of and can learn more about. Dang I love Clemson!!!! Go tigers! All of em!

1. Jeff Bryant.....#99 was, IMO, the most underrated Tiger great of my lifetime. An absolute nasty beast at all 4 DL positions. 2. Jeff Davis....The JUDGE remains the best pure FB player I have ever seen with a Paw on. 3. Jim Stuckey....#83 was another nasty athletic beast at DT.....lived in the backfield. Defense has always been my passion and those three were my faves as a kid.

Justin Miller. I was 13 when he took those kicks back against Fl St.
Derek Hamilton. Loved watching Charlie throw it to him
CJ. On the sideline when he made GT look silly at Clemson. On the first row when he killed them in Tampa. He was magic

I remember so many from my childhood and I loved them all but Steve Fuller was the first Tiger I ever really believed could do anything and he never failed me! I also loved Obid Arriri, scored the only points in our 1977 trip to the Gator Bowl. Dan Benish, because he helped raise a nephew that is going to lead us to greatness! Go Tigers!

1st of all, I am sorry you has to grow up in that era. It was tough times. B Dawk is an all time fave tho as is Prie-daddy.
I had a Terrance Rhoulac jersey in elementary school. I remember going into the bathroom and drawing a self portrait and the numbers and letters were backwards (1st grade - didn't understand the mirror effect yet lol).
Stacy Driver. Kenny Flowers. Terry Allen.
But my favorite player to watch was the Fridge! The way other teams doubled and triple teamed him with little success was amazing. He was truly a man among boys.
We didn't lose many home games back then. Things are starting to get back to that type of dominance and consistency. Exciting times for sure!
