Saban added that the "competitive balance" is nowhere to be found in college athletics because it’s all about who’s willing to pay the most money to these current and prospective student-athletes.

"It’s whoever pays the most money, raises the most money, buys the most players — they’re going to have the best opportunity to win. I don’t think that’s the spirit of college athletics. I don’t think it’s ever been the spirit of what we want college athletics to be.

"I can attest that I’ve had two NFL coaches tell me — and this is a football deal because they’re concerned about the football part — that the players come to them less developed with more entitlement and less resiliency to overcome adversity."

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

Alabama could offer a recruit more than anyone else...

until the rules changed so that they couldn't.

While I agree with the premise, Saban can save his tears on me. If NIL had benefited Alabama to make his foothold even stronger, he would have just learned to live with the new era.

I don't know that Alabama under Saban needed to pay players.

They may have been because it's the SEC, but their history of getting players to the NFL speaks for itself.

so it was time to pasture & graze and just forget that loong award-winning grind.

Good for Saban and bet he will always remember Dabo & Clemson’s 2-2 CFP record vs his very best teams!

Guys, no matter if you think his comments are sour grapes or are sprinkled with hypocrisy the bigger point is he is right! Everything he says is true. Forget about the messenger for a minute if you don't care for him. College football has become an absolute lawless, cesspool!

Right on the nose...NCAA forgot the student athletes and pampered the big schools that they could not afford to punish... SMU took one for the same stuff UT & TAMU had been doing for years...NCAA really could not punish Miami, FSU, UNC, Oklahoma or UF and Georgia is out of the question! NIL & portal will allow gambling interests, and every other perversion to destroy college athletics, maybe club teams like a century ago..Ha!
