Regardless of the status of Travis next week,....

...I was going to post this at halftime. I was going to post it even before JT hurt his shoulder.

Our linebackers are horrible on pass coverage, especially #4, Kevin DeLoach. He is clueless on where he is supposed to be on pass coverage, whether zone or man.

On the opening series both pass completions he was nowhere near where he should have been. On, the long run, both linebackers totally vacated the middle of the field. They took themselves completely out of the play with no one blocking them. I am no coach. But, I do know that on third and long there is no defense that has no one in the middle of the field for 0-20 yards downfield.

Riley and the rest of the offensive staff have to be licking their chops coming up with a game plan.

I would have the game plan include rule #1.

1. Anytime #4 is on the field, audible to a pass play with a RB flaring out to his side of the field.

As I was typing, good news for FSU. Travis is playing and just drove them down the field for a TD. It changes nothing I wrote above. I was talking about the pitiful play of our LBs.

I am confident we will move the ball on the Noles

The question is can we hang on to it and turn yards into points. If we do, it could be a great game.

Jordan Travis is a talented player, but he has to learn to play for the next down instead of this hero ball he’s trying to play.

He’ll play on Sundays, but if he keeps trying to make plays like the one at the end of the half his career will be a lot shorter than it could be.

Only problem is you must have players on the field capable of taking advantage of that and making those plays, and we’re lacking in that department at the moment

Just emailed this to Garrett Riley, I expect many flare passes to Shipley to target #4

Thank you BretFSU
