I know there are tons of rumors out there and I know everyone wants to know what is happening. I've spent the better part of two days chasing down nuggets and morsels, and I've even talked to people at UNC and FSU. Right now, I am sitting in the Carillon Garden letting our two little ones run out some energy after visiting Nikki at Martin Hall.
As for Clemson.... A lot of radio silence.

give a denial to the rumors based on the small-time sources they are coming from. Athlon, however, does seem to be a decent source, but they were simply pointing out that so and so had said.

Any insights about whether the B1G may depart from its perceived ‘must have AAU academic status’ requirement to be allowed into the conference.
Of course, neither FSU nor Clemson are AAU schools.

I think it was already a given in the near future there will more than likely be just 2 big major conferences....probably with several divisions. Its going to look more like the NFL with 2 seperate playoffs in each conf and the winners play for the Natty.

Thanks David. I’d be interested to know if you’ve ever received indications in the past about whether Clemson would prefer SEC or BIG. Guessing most fans want SEC, but I just wondered if Clemson’s aspirational goals to become more of the national/research University might make the administrators and board of trustees prefer BIG.
