Homophobes are obsessed with homosexuals

I said it when Michael Sam came out of the closet & everyone on this board blew up about how awful it is & I'll say it again.
To all homophobes, please stop obsessing over gay people. It only makes you look really gay.

The Gay Agenda
May 11, 2014, 6:36 AM

I do not care if someone chooses to be gay, bi, gender switch, a hater, a lover or whatever.
I am sick of their agendas. The Gay Pride Festivals, the Gay Day at Disney. All this stuff.
Just be who you are, live your life, you do not have to get up on your soap box.
There are far too many agendas which result in more divide in this country.
I truly thought when Obama got elected these divides would get less, unfortunately, the opposite has occurred.

Other than to raise awareness to the level that society is willing to treat them like equal individuals. To get attention you have to make noise. If you're one of the people who's willing to treat them equally, even if you disagree with their choices, fantastic--it's worked.

"abnormal?" Why not just live your supposedly "normal" life and let them be happy? It's just consenting adults who want to be together and live their lives in peace. Why do yor beliefs have to control everything?

I support gay rights, but ALL groups, need to shut the hell up and live their life. A gay pride festival, or a rally is not going to change people minds when it comes to their opinions. If you ask me, it seems like the majority of the world is in support of the gays, so give it up already. We get it.

ESPN has no business showing men kissing. I didn't see it and glad I didn't, just heard about it. What a disgusting journalistic action. They should be ashamed of themselves and offer an apology.

It's not the 'only' thing wrong with that, as I still don't get the acceptance for having your @ss pounded by another man - I suppose hetero's have it all wrong and many of the incarcerated are living the 'norm' - excellent sources of judgement.
And as you say, Penn State will be re-erecting a statue of Joe Pa and probably add Sandusky's beside him as 'founders' of a wonderful movement of free choice in 20 years - yeah I realize Sandusky was ###### the kids but the line keeps moving with the liberal movement.

what was done to those discovered as homosexual in ancient society... It wasn't friendly and it was because they were viewed as quite perverted (Sandusky-like). Are you also aware there were (and still are in some US counties) laws against homosexuality? Although these laws and behavior were more than twenty years ago, human society continues to push the realm of acceptability for those that cannot live the 'sexual norm'.

If it makes you uncomfortable or you don't want to see it paraded around, don't you think that's your problem?
I've literally never seen a gay pride festival on TV or in person. It just doesn't seem like something that affects me enough for me to biitch about it.
Why do you think the gheys should submit to your will? Does the world revolve around you? Just curious why you think you're entitled to make such demands.

No need to get salty with me. Straight from the book you're referring to.
On Slavery:
Leviticus 25:44-46 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.
On Women:
1 Timothy 2:11-15 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
And these are some of the pretty benign passages. You're the one who said it was the truth, not me.
So do you support slavery or not? The thing about heathens like me, is that I can read the same book you can.

subordinate to males...I even have friends that are that way (one is an aethiest). I also know women who openly accept that as they are Christians and believe that the man has the final say so...I guess that's their choice, their belief.
As for slaves, I don't know an awful lot about slavery during that time, but I don't think it was anything like the slavery the past few centuries. I think many actually choose to become slaves to abolish debt. After several years of service, they could then be free. Society has painted slavery as blacks (one race), forced/stolen from their homes, and frequently beaten. I don't think slavery during that time was quite the same but I don't have any evidence for that...just distant memories of previous History Channel shows or something like that describing it. Everything was different during those times...public executions and what not. Christians are suppose to follow the laws of their government...which forbids slavery now.

Are you saying those two things are one in the same?

I majored in history and I don't even know much about slavery to be honest with you. I do know that in Roman times men could pay off debts by working for rich aristocrats. Some of the slaves weren't treated bad either, unlike in america. For example, Julius Caesar had a slave that became his closest confidant and best friend; even left him a large sum of money in his will, which subsequently was overturned because Caesar was ruled a "tyrant" and his will became null and void.

conjures thoughts of harsh conditions, oppression, and violent acts. No doubt the turmoil from an early time in our country all the way up to the end of segregation has helped shaped that term.
Again, I don't condone slavery. I'm just willing to delve a little deeper into history to understand what being a slave IN THAT ERA actually meant...

I agree with this.
I think the conservatives get bent out of shape about allowing gays to marry because they see that as them approving of something they see as a sin.
Well, marriage is just a contract, it's a legal thing, a legal term and in that sense it is something that is controlled by the government. Jesus said "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's"......isn't Jesus telling us there is separation of church and state?
So why are conservatives worried about our government granting the same rights to a gay couple as they do to a married hetero couple? It's just a contract that happens to be called "marriage". What if gays were given the same rights but instead of calling it "marriage" we called it "legal union"? Would the conservatives still be against it?
Maybe the conservatives just want to police what consenting adults do in their bedroom and that's why they can't even approve of a "legal union". Well what if two people of the same sex just love and care for each other so much they want to share their assets, their insurance benefits and visit the other in the hospital or sign legal documents if the other is incapacitated, etc., but believe it or not don't have an interest in having sex with each other......are conservatives still against this type of legal union?
If conservatives are not against the type of partnership described above (note that I didn't call it a marriage) and honestly I don't know why anyone would be, then it really boils down to the fact a certain portion of our population wants to police what consenting adults do in their bedroom.

That's a "problem" that doesn't exist. No one in this country is forcing any church to perform any marriages that it does not want to perform.

A choice or a genetic defect, either way it isn't normal so stop trying to force it on everyone else. Of course they should be able to play football but trying to constrain many or most straights from gut reaction of sickness is going beyond fighting for rights. If their urges shouldn't be constrained why should ours?

Since he brought up the topic it can be discussed Besides, the homosexual crowd wants this dialogue. This behavior is sickening and if they want to choose that style it is their choice. Only when they want to tell others it is normal and force others to think that way, I and so many others have a real problem with it The obsession is on the homosexual side pushing their agenda

I think calling someone homophobic that doesn't agree with homosexuality is a cop out. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean you're afraid of it. Unless I'm missing what you're saying...which is quite possible.
I would also need to know what you mean by obsessed. Is speaking out against it obsessed? Or just simply disagreeing with it if someone asked your opinion?

Homophobes aren't necessarily afraid of gay people, they're afraid that seeing two guys kiss will turn them gay. Which is why there's so much outrage on Tnet in the last couple of days. It's suppression of a very natural urge. Just look at Ted Haggard.

It's all about making how you feel public, it's all about attention. Almost everyone drafted just hugs their family, not make out with their partner. Multiple times. That stuff is for movies and #### not a sports network. It's ridiculous. Why not just wait like every other decent person to make out with your partner once the viewers weren't watching? Why not just hug and congratulations? Bc he is gay. And the point had to be made that he is gay. So from now on when a kid is drafted, he should just grab his partner and make out with her (hopefully) just to let the world know he is straight, since it is so widely accepted to be gay. The Collins thing went away after a while, and just like everything else this too will pass. God help us all

Who spent half the draft covering a 7th round pick who were obsessed and an over the top cake eating in the face make out session that was obviously reaching for a reaction. It was disgusting, it's unattractive to many people on so many levels just as it would be if a man had a fat ugly wife and smothered her in cake and then made out. The obsession is all the pros and the outrage goes beyond the #### angle.

EXODUS 20 For all of my fellow Christians out there
May 12, 2014, 10:16 AM
|
|
If anyone has watched Mike Sam play then they would have noticed that he was at the very least 2nd Round Draft Quality. I am not a Mizzo fan, but I've seen the performance of that young man. He can certainly play some football. Why do so many folks who are condemning him forget about Exodus 20 where it explains the origin of our sin that we are born with. Some folks have addictions, some are dishonest, some are violent, and some have sexual sins. Why are these condemning folks primarily Christians? The same Christians who preach how Christ's blood covers their sins but in time frame of one week they will scoff at another man's sins? Why? His sins are none of my business. I wasn't born as a homosexual. I wasn't born as someone with an alcohol addiction. I was born with sexual addiction, anger management issues, and a foul mouth that can sometimes bear false witness. Not everyone struggles with the same sins that I struggle with because they weren't born with those tendencies. Exodus 20 does everything but flat out say that folks are born gay. Don't feed me a bunch of crap about how God doesn't make junk. He made me and you didn't he? He made man in his image and because of Adam and Eve creating the fall of man we are now predestined for hell at birth. Why? According to Exodus 20 the sins of the parents are passed down to the 3rd and 4th generations. Just because I am a believer in Christ does not mean that I have stopped sinning. I still sin, and oddly enough they are the same sins I struggled with before receiving salvation. So for anyone to say that in order to be saved then I must live a sin free life is just ridiculous. If I could live a sin free life then there would be no need for salvation. If it weren't for the Law of Righteousness then sin would be non-existent. As a washed pig returns to the mud and a dog to his vomit so shall a man return to his sinful ways. Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden the entire human race has been cursed, and the only blessing we are promised is eternal Salvation through Christ Jesus. What is salvation? Answer that and you will then notice the error in condemning someone for their lifestyle as most may call it. Salvation according to Scripture is simply the "BELIEF" in the redeeming power in the Blood of Christ Jesus. Nowhere, does it at all mention any certain actions that must take place in order to receive a free gift from God. It says to repent of your sins. I get it, we must repent. What is repentance? It is truly feeling sorry for your sinful nature and asking for forgiveness. So can someone who is a homosexual enter the Gates of Heaven? Yes they can. Does this mean that they have to stop being gay first? Not at all. They must strive to do the will of God and do their best to have a pure and clean heart. Simply put, Salvation is a condition of one's heart. We must not cast stones at anyone. For who can make a man's servant rise or fall except for his master?

Your interpretation of Exodus 20 is one I've never heard

[ in reply to EXODUS 20 For all of my fellow Christians out there ] |

especially the part where you claim it basically confirms people are born gay, or alcoholic, or whatever. Are we born in to sin? Undeniably yes. Can we overcome sin? Undeniably, yes, as this is what the bible teaches. While we will sin, as we continue to have a fallen nature even when indwelled by the Holy Spirit, we will break free from the bondage of a lifestyle of sin. The more we grow in Christ and surrender to His power, the more repulsive our sin becomes to us, and the more we desire to repent, to change, and follow Christ. As a Christian you don't have to tell me when I sin, I know it. The thing we must understand is that sin, by definition, is a choice we make. Whether it be an alcoholic, addict, thief, liar or someone engaged in sexual immorality(and that involves more than homosexuality), to engage in the act is what makes it a sin. If we had no choice, God could not judge us. It's reference in the bible as resisting temptation. It is no sin to be tempted, it is to act upon that temptation, to choose to sin. While I may agree some are born more succeptible to one temptation than another, to fall prey to that temptation is the sin. And it is God who defines what sin is and is not(he does a pretty good job of that).
As for the condemning nature of some Christians, I agree. The bible teaches explicitly we are not to judge in a condemning way, we are however to judge right and wrong as defined by God. The call is not to condemn, but rather, to share the truth in love. At this, as Christians, we fail miserably at times. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 5 that we as Christians are to hold each other accountable as when we profess Christ we claim salvation and the change that surely comes with it. However he states, we are not to judge the world(and it's ways), as God will surely do that. He teaches in 1 Corinthians 2 that the "natural man," those who do not know Christ, cannot understand the things of God as they are only know through the Spirit. We should not judge those who do not know Christ, but we should, in love, share the truth of His salvation and what happens when we truly receive Him as Savior and Lord. And we cannot claim one without the other. If we truly claim Him as Savior, we must follow Him as Lord.

Nah. It's just not natural. Clearly, either nature
May 12, 2014, 1:13 PM

(or God depending on your belief) didn't intend for men to be with other men. Nature (or God) designed men and women to be able to propagate the species - anything else appears unnatural.
So, the fact that I cringe when I see two men kissing is only my natural reaction to an unnatural act.

God didn't intend for men to get drunk, gamble, murder, rape, or bear false witness either. It is in our nature to be sinful.
