Plyler says Scar and Harris better than Feast and ETN
Dec 9, 2017, 2:33 PM

I think that is a load of crap. Both duos are very very very good but I would take ours without my orange glasses on. Feastmode has the size and speed of an NFL back and ETN is just lightning quick and hits the hole hard. Scarbrough is a beast and hard to tackle especially in open space and Harris has improved and is a work horse. Both are amazing duos but I think ours is better. Thoughts?

Um, no he didn't. You need to go look at the play by play. Unless you think 2 yards, 3 yards, -1 yard, 6 yards, no yards, 1 yard is good... Cause it looks similar to that after that one single big run.

Yep... Here's the exact plays... He was referred useless long before he went out. Right after his 37 yard run, they shut him down.
1st and 10 at CLEM 45 (5:24 - 2nd) Bo Scarbrough run for 5 yds to the Clem 40
1st and 10 at ALA 38 (2:28 - 2nd) Bo Scarbrough run for 2 yds to the Alab 40
2nd and 8 at ALA 40 (1:54 - 2nd) Bo Scarbrough run for 1 yd to the Alab 41
3rd and 7 at ALA 41 (1:21 - 2nd) Bo Scarbrough run for a loss of 3 yards to the Alab 38
END OF HALF
1st and 15 at CLEM 21 (13:54 - 3rd) Bo Scarbrough run for 3 yds to the Clem 18
1st and 10 at ALA 5 (9:14 - 3rd) Bo Scarbrough run for 3 yds to the Alab 8
2nd and 10 at ALA 32 (6:54 - 3rd) Jalen Hurts pass complete to Bo Scarbrough for no gain to the Alab 32
(2:54 - 3rd) Bo Scarbrough run for 6 yds to the Alab 27
2nd and 4 at ALA 27 (2:34 - 3rd) Bo Scarbrough run for 5 yds to the Alab 32 for a 1ST down

play is so critical, and Bama typically does a better job with that than we do. Harris is averaging 8.2 ypc this year which is pretty sick. Scarbrough has dropped off a little and sits at 5.1. We have Feaster at 6.4 and Etienne at 7.2.
I think Harris and Feaster are actually kind of similar. Etienne and Scarbrough are obviously completely different. They don't have a guy with Etienne's speed and explosiveness.

I give Feast and ETN the edge because they don't get run down, many times I've seen Harris have nothing but green in front of him and get run down.

As long as our D-line is healthy along with the LB's I choose not to compare comparing and think little of opinions in the media. Heck our CB's even seem to like to tackle so I am just waiting for the Clash of the Titans.

Might want to use facts when making an opinion. Cause they say you are wrong on that.
Here's Bo after that last 2nd quarter 37 yard run...all the way to his injury point.
2nd and 4 at ALA 27 (2:34 - 3rd) Bo Scarbrough run for 5 yds to the Alab 32 for a 1ST down
What in that says he wasn't getting shut down after that last big run??

Dec 9, 2017, 3:22 PM

Injured and not playing? Fair enough that the numbers were trending to us shutting him down, but sure didn't hurt my feeling he was no longer in the game. Just because we were containing him better doesn't mean he could not have broken one. Doesn't really matter. We won. That's all I care about. If he has 159 yards rushing against us this year and we win, that too is all that will matter to me.

Personally, I think that says they're running game became nonexistent while he was still healthy, which is why they shifted to Hurts passing more. I personally don't see how it says if he want hurt, we'd lose. Actually reminds me more of Dalvin Cook's play in 2015. Big runs in the beginning quarter(s), Venables adjusts, shuts down, and his 4th quarter would have been the least yards he had in a quarter in the entire game. Think the game would have went about the same as it was, with Hurts having to pass to win.

Middle of the 3rd this year for Hurts to have to beat us with his arm. I really didn't want to play Alabama in the first game, but I think we are going to win. If KB2 is sharp that game with his passes we should run away with it.

Nope, they did better without him. 17 points in first 43 minutes with him (including benefit of 2 turnovers from us), 14 points in last 17 minutes without him. Don't fall for that false Scarborough narrative.

I haven’t been real impressed with Feaster’s athleticism. I didn’t realize he was such a straight-line athlete. And he doesn’t play full-speed when there’s a crowd around him. Also seems to shy from contact. You don’t ever see an Alabama rb doing that. I’ll be shocked if Feaster makes a NFL roster

Feaster has played great this year IMO. He will certainly be on an NFL roster when he leaves Clemson. He still has some growing to so. I do agree he has not been as good as expected but we wanted him to be like Spiller and he is not Spiller. He is dang good though.

I never expected him to be Spiller. That’s not a fair expectation for any player. I like his lower-body strength in short yardage & he has pretty good break away speed when he gets in the open. He’s not physical or athletic enough for the NFL though.

I think he’s better than Harper in short yardage but very similar in how he shys from contact. Great hands like Harper and more open-field speed.

If you think he is not physical go watch the Louisville game. The kid was number one in the nation out of.high school for a reason. He will go to the NfL. He is on of the more athletic players on our team that is full of top level athletes.

I did see that. He ran straight ahead (in a straight line) and there was no contact on that play. You need to get outta here using statements like “you don’t understand football” then trying to make points with crap like this.

To be fair... I think everyone here is forgetting how much better Feaster is at picking up blocks. This is a huge priority in the NFL. You must be able to do that. He's still developing and I think he is better than most people realize. He's just not flashy, but he sure is consistent.

You’re right bro. But athleticly I think we’ve seen pretty much what he is. If he’d hit the hole quicker he’d be so much more effective at the second level. He just doesn’t play full speed in a crowd. Hopefully we’ll see him get past that but I’m afraid he is what he is on that front

Oh yessir we do. Choice has came on strong and Fuller has ran hard all year. He needs to protect the ball more though. Really impressed with Choice lately. Bama has another good back as well but just comparing their best 2 to ours.

I think Bama will come into this game a little on the scared side. Watch for trick plays from them in the 1st Q trying to get a leg up.
It will come down to Hurts having to beat us with his arm, and that ain't happening.
