Parking in Clemson

Going to walk daughter around Clemson who got accepted for Fall 2022. Where should we park to not get towed? Also very disappointed that Clemson offers no in person visits. (All the other schools do that we visited like ETSU / Troy / liberty / Tennessee)

Depends on what day you are going. If sometime over the weekend, parking services are more relaxed and it shouldn’t matter TOO much. Safest bet is to park downtown or at a parking meter either on campus or over in C-3 lot.

I work on campus and can tell you where you might find some good spots.
1) it was mentioned already, but there is a parking garage downtown as well as 1 hr and 2 hr spots downtown (just depends where you can find a spot)
2) you can park on campus in the horse shoe (the loop near the high rise dorms: Byrnes, Manning, Lever). There are metered parking where I think you can park up to 3 hours at a time. They take cards.
3) other metered spots are in front of Hendrix Center, a parking lot in the new Douthit Apartments on campus, and also a small strip of spots near CORE campus (between Holmes and CORE dorms)
4) you can also park a bit off campus and walk from Botanical gardens or The Walker Course but you’ll get your steps in.

Parking on campus is very limited, and you can expect to walk a distance to your desired location. Be certain of one thing; if you park anywhere but a metered spot, you will get a very expensive ticket.

Visitors can purchase Daily Weekday permits online for $5.00 per day. This new service has been implemented to aid in managing customers’ time and travel needs and allows Clemson University Visitors a convenient option to purchase discounted daily permits instantly and print them from their home or office computers. In order to purchase an online Weekday Visitor permit, you must have a valid email address and the make, model year, color and license plate of their vehicle to create a Guest Account. If after creating a guest account and you are a returning Visitor, go to www.clemson.edu/parking and click on Manage My account. Individuals are able to purchase permits up to 14 days in advance for designated lots. The designated lots are located directly on CAT bus routes which serve the east and west sides of campus so you can decide which lot to park in. Transportation service will be provided to and from these lots from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
