Hey Dabo, metrics don't mean horse shizz

when you can't close. Period.

That's like a salesman saying he made all the right calls, visited perspective clients multiple times, took them to lunch, and then didn't close a sale. Does. Not. Matter.

Your job is to win. Especially against inferior talent.

Yeah, who cares about those stats.

It was frustrating to hear. Especially to hear it in back to back losses.

We’ve lost 3 outta 4. Just own it, Dabo.

That's incorrect...

Metrics are extremely important. With out measurables, you can't identify what went wrong or if your corrections are working.

Ok, well we lost by 21 so there's a good number to work on

It's not the score that needs correcting...

Sep 5, 2023, 8:40 AM

it's how we arrived at that score.

This is dumb AF.

Do you want to actually win or not? If yes you want to win, then OFC you need to fix the score as in the end that’s what f’n matters.

Anything else is that lame Dabo coach speak that puts everything else above the job he’s being paid millions of dollars to do. Just win.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ok...

Sep 5, 2023, 8:51 AM

How do we fix the score? Tell me exactly how you will fix it, and how will you prevent the same things from happening again.

You look at the scoreboard for answers, I'll look at the film.

Re: Ok...

Sep 5, 2023, 9:03 AM

When you look at the film make sure you look at the missed tackles, the no pressure on the QB, the QB getting loose, the no separation from our WR's, the poor play by the OL, the poor poor play calling. Shall I go on? There's your metrics FM

tnet-military.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thats exactly what they are for!

Sep 5, 2023, 10:32 AM

You are identifying the issues. Why would anyone argue that’s not important? Now to solve them.

Poor play calling and still got 420 yards… can’t wait to see a great coached game! Maybe we’ll break 1000 yards!

Vanillalite. Sorry, I think I TD'd you by mistake. I agree with you.

Metrics & Stats are for losers....Anybody can see

Sep 5, 2023, 8:43 AM [ in reply to That's incorrect... ]

2 missed field goals and fumbling the ball on the one twice was our downfall. That is NOT normal for our Tiger team. We have a long way to go on the season, so I won't write them off like some of you.

Go Tigers Beat the rest!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Could you point to any/all the posts I've made...

Sep 5, 2023, 8:55 AM

that imply I'm writing off this team. Those would be measurables. But you don't believe in those, so you just make things up. That's what a coach has to do if he doesn't have measurables.

That is true, metrics are measurable

Sep 5, 2023, 8:44 AM [ in reply to That's incorrect... ]

So what happens after the metrics show support of a win but it was actually a loss ?

Metrics are important, but heart/desire wins games and if we had more of that then last night does not happen.

Metrics means we have better players than Duke, yet Duke handily beat Clemson. Turnovers happened, no adjustments were made to move the ball downfield, no throws over 10 yards downfield were ever completed. Duke could stack 11 guys within 10 yards of the LOS and had no concern about a Tiger getting behind them.

Metrics are vital, but they mean very little when the other team does not care about all those 4* and 5* players... They simply play ball and play hard, Clemson could learn from that and hopefully they do. Stars on a portfolio means nothing without execution which is a metric Clemson failed at miserably.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If all the metrics support a win...

Sep 5, 2023, 8:58 AM

and we lost due to heart/desire, then we know what we need to work on, heart/desire.

I hope that isn't the problem FM

but it sure did look like our kids simply didn't have any fire in them.

Like you mention, you watch the film, you see the correctables, and work on it.

Unfortunately, that list is immense and will take quite a bit of coaching that should have already been done for a team with such talent. Fumbles can happen, turnovers are a part of the game. The reason for the fumble, getting beat at LOS by Dlineman was the reason for fumble. Helmet met ball perfectly and off to races.

Cade showed guts and speed to get to him and tackle him, very proud of him. Possibly the best effort of that entire game was in that moment instead of sulking and not giving the effort.

Clemson/Duke 2023 : "A series of unfortunate events" will be the publication, release date TBD

Go Tigers!!

When metrics show one mediocre player is a little better than another mediocre player that is embarrassing. Losing is one thing, getting outmuscled by Dook is embarrassing. There is nothing positive to take from this whipping other than Dabo has let cronyism wreck this program.

Well the TO's in the end doomed us, and the field position which they occurred magnified them. The stats say we should have won, and Klubnik actually threw for more yards than Leonard. An L is an L regardless but the outcome is different if the players would have made plays. Will Dabo take responsibility and I totally understand but not making the easy plays is not on him, the portal or God.

Re: Hey Dabo, metrics don't mean horse shizz

Sep 5, 2023, 11:03 AM

I get what he’s saying-problem with his metrics is that they still wont beat an FSU or UNC, let alone an UGA…say we dont turn it over and score 2-3 touchdowns…we are still in a dogfight with DUKE…we barely squeak by a DUKE. A Duke who will honestly win 8-9 games this year because although good, they just dont have the depth with weather the attrition of a season. He can dress it up any way he’d like, but like you said-pointing to the metrics and saying we didnt finish and “that” is what needs fixing is not just grabbing low hanging fruit, its eating rotten fruit off the ground that other programs have stepped on.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

YES THEY DO . . .

they DO, they DO mean horse shizz. They mean horse shizz.
