Anybody else think DRad is on the clock with Hobby?

I think the Jags offered, Hobby was intrigued, Dabo was informed, then Dabo contacted DRad to do whatever he needs to do to make the numbers work so Hobby can stay.
Hobby is likely waiting for DRad's counter offer. He might be wanting at least $750K plus assurances that he gets the head D-Coord job if BV moves on and/or a fair shake at the head job if Dabo leaves for Bama.
Just my guess.

I'm sure he may get an improved package but not Dabo or Brent job promises.
It won't be hard to find coaches wanting to coach our defensive line.

Bruce Feldman is reporting that he is seriously considering a move to the Jaguars. Losing a DE and DT coach in the same offseason could be killer. Not to mention how much it would hurt our chances with XT...

No way he goes to $750k. He already makes $500k with another year to go on the contract. He was making more than any of the coaches except the coordinators & he doesn't have many players to coach. I expected him to take over the DLs & DEs. Before this last tour at Clemson, he had excelled as a DL coach. I don't blame him for seeing what he can get but if he takes off again, I hope we let him go for good this time.

He is also the co- d coordinator as well, nor just a de coach with a few players. BV does most of the heavy lifting, but hes not just a DE coach with a few players to coach. Pay the man.

Losing Brooks and Hobby (if that happens) is not as big a blow as if BV were to leave. He is the soul of our defense, and it won't have that big an effect as long as he is DC. EVERY staff loses coaches and if a kid wants to come to a college just for ONE position coach, then he is coming for the wrong reason. If both left, would Thomas choose to go to the trash dump in Columbia? Because of one position coach, and NOT the DC or Head coach or the school or other players coming? Hey, who knows what goes on through kid's minds.
