Coaching changes, scheme updates and transfer portals are all needed but without a complete philosophical change in NIL thinking, none of it will matter. We can not continue to recruit at high levels if we offer nothing when lessor universities offer NIL opportunities that we do not have.
We’ve always had the base for
NIL in IPTAY. We better start using that base or
We’re about to follow the path of the Nebraska Cornhuskers to irrelevance.

We have to decide. Do we want to keep our squeaky clean "academic" image, or do we want to win football games. We are not playing ivy league. Play by the same rules as Bama, Ohio State, and UGA, or become irrelevant.

Stayed tuned. I understand there are things in play for NIL fund raising support. As can be expected, there are camps on both sides of the NIL fence. However, overall there’s a recognition that NIL needs more than grass roots fund raising to become more competitive.

Let’s not forget DJU was one of the first college players apart of a national campaign. BT Potter was in ads all over South Carolina last season. We have done good as far as NIL. So stop pushing a false narrative when it comes to NIL

NIL is in need of a more consistent fund raising base. It’s difficult to gain traction when they have to keep going back to the same deep pockets. Basketball has done ok with NIL, but benefits from a few deep pockets that are willing to help. Baseball needs more support because Bakich needs NIL to offset the unfunded portion of tuition. The women’s sports (such as softball) are doing ok for now because the players don’t have the same expectations as football and basketball.
Bottomline: Clemson is doing NIL, so it’s time to do it right so current players aren’t pulled away by the likes of Tennessee, etc.

There has been 0 indication that there is a shortage of $ needed for NIL. IPTAY donations were $135mil this year - while not NIL it was almost double the previous record of $76mil. There’s enough $ out there from alumni to do what we need because it is secondary at Clemson because we sell something different and there are big time recruits still signing and committing. That doesn’t mean they we haven’t misevaluated guys but they were still highly ranked. However if NIL becomes our primary selling point, it will take a boatload more $ than what we need that because at that point you are UT, Ole Miss, Florida etc. We need to foil us on better evaluation and sending out more offers. Address any coach or roster shortcomings. That’s where our efforts need to be.

Preach it tourist! We have a head coach who has said repeatedly, “We are never gonna lead with NIL.” Guess who does? At least 50 of your competitors. Listen, we all know NIL can’t funnel thru Iptay..but that doesn’t mean the power broker boosters in Iptay can’t use their 75+ years of fundraising experience to ensure that we streamline a legitimate, organized, assimilated NIL collective. I’m talking about beating the bushes throughout this state and nation until every tiger fan (Alumni or not/Iptay or not) has a vested annual installment to our NIL collective. We are counting on the Uber wealthy to do all the heavy lifting, when low hanging fruit is right in front of us. Guess what? Grassroots still works. It made Iptay a juggernaut and we can duplicate w NIL. Usuc and others are kicking our a55 in this arena. Either we fall in love with NIL or forget ever signing another Trevor, CJ, Sammy, Tee, Ross, DW, Wilkins, Dex, etc. High character kids like $ too, and so do their parents. Dabo is a high character gentleman, without a doubt, but I bet you he sure loves that paycheck.
