At overall 236–173 (.577) and 113–115 (.496) in the ACC, he's clearly competent. But he's just barely that, in a domain where winning more than losing is the yardstick by which one is measured.

email...the emails dont serve a purpose at this time. We could easily win 4 or 5 of our last 6 and be in a great spot. We lost a couple of tough ones and then UNC shot the game of their life at their place on Saturday. One of the worst freaking 3 pt team in the country hits 15 against us. It didnt help that Hunter missed nearly every shot he took (which was ALOT) except for his FTs. And Tyson had a matchup on the offensive end and they made sure someone else beat us....and it worked.
Of course BB deserves the brunt of the blame but it makes it alot easier to be a coach when someone hits 3s and when the other team misses them...or at least only hits their average. To expand on that, if UNC shot their avg with 33 atttempts then they only score 76 pts...if Hunter just hits a normal avg on 3s then we end up with 77 pts. Totally different ballgame at that point. It didnt happen that way.
I actually went to a UK-Texas AM game recently and Buzz Williams gameplan was to pack it in, keep the ball out of the best players hands and force the guards to jack 3s all night...which they did and of course hit way more than normal. UK hadnt been shooting well at the time and it was a solid gameplan by Williams and A&M...just didnt work that night as they lost by 6 or 7 in the end. Next time, it likely goes his way and people say he had a great plan...great coaching...even though its good fortune when guys make/miss shots.

Great response. I was not thrilled with his hire, but he is confident but not arrogant. He is young and energetic. Smart too.
