Need some insiderscoop from first hand observers in the know

Dec 4, 2016, 11:31 PM

Does Tucker Israel have the arm strength to be first team.... i get the impression he has the accuracy and his feet have improved but what about the strength for the deep ball ? is there hope? You do not have to reveal your sources...just give us some heads up ...

I've seen the guy practice a couple times and I'm probably higher on him than most. What I really like is his quick release - I mean, he sees it, and BAM, no hesitation, the ball is gone exactly one heartbeat later, and usually pretty accurately - and he has the same calm, almost casual demeanor in the pocket Deshaun Watson does.

I do wish he was bigger, and I do wish he ran faster. And his arm has always struck me as more a dagger than a sword. I've heard a couple people talk about his long throws but I personally never saw that aspect from him...he looked like a guy who could deal it around short and chuck the arcing moonball fade over the top but who wasn't going to wow you with his cannon, and he always seemed to float it on longer throws to the far hash, which is dangerous because it gives teams a chance to break on it.

That said, you can definitely see aspects of the guy that made him the all-time leading passer in Florida high school football. If he was just a little bigger and had more arm I think we might be staring at him as another Drew Brees. He has the mental tools, but nobody will confuse him with Kelly Bryant as a physical specimen either.

Sucks to think he might have been 3inches from being an all-timer.

What about Bryant? It's concerning that he didn't beat Schuessler for the backup job. I'm expecting Cooper to win the job in the spring or fall. Any information on where Bryant is on developing into an effective passer and eventual starter?
