Anyone playing with rosters downloaded yet or do they players have just their #s showing.
I just bought the game.
I only play dynasty mainly for recruiting.
I like getting 10 to 15 5 stars a year.
That usually happens after the 2nd National Championship.

Im a madden guy myself, NCAA just holds me over but you can add me on xbox live or psn.. GT is Adamtgr1382 for both systems, But im pretty good just ask clemson tom lol..

Is the pass defense better, worse, or about the same as previuos editions? That's always been my pet peeve with the NCAA titles. I still love the game it just seems like the pass defense is random sometimes. Maybe im not playing it right.

Yeah my problem with pass defense is that I am sometimes too aggressive and take a chance on getting a pick and thus miss and they guy is off to the races for a TD.
When I let the computer sim the game, the pass defense is okay.
It helps to recruit some 5 star CBs

Thats what I have observed on previous versions of the game as well. The pass defense works if you recruit 5 star dbs and let the computer control. I was hoping for a more interactive pass defense this time around. I kinda miss the good old days of pass defense in Techmo Bowl! If you were in position, you either made the interception or broke the pass up. If you weren't fast enough to keep up with the receiver or if you were too far out of position you got burned.

When I played on all American my first game I had 10 interceptions Mt first time playing. On Heisman picks are definitely harder to come by. I love the passing game on this game offensively and defensively. It has been a great improvement.

I love the offensive passing. I have to rely on the computer to play pass defense effectively. I get plenty of picks this way but most times when I choose to play as a db, no matter how I position my guy or how many times I press "Y" for interception or pull the trigger for the pass break up, I get burned. The WR literally catches the ball on top of my defender most times. Now if I let the computer play the db for most of the play and then switch to the defender at the last second right before the ball gets there, I can usually intercept or swat the ball. I would love to play exclusively as a db on defense but cant because of my poor coverage skills.

Also, I remember in one previous version (2011 I think) there was a practice drill where you could practice coverage skills. I loved that drill because if you did it right, you would break the pass up or intercept most times. It seemed fair and balanced. However, the gameplay from the practice drill did NOT translate well into the actual game; at least for me it didn't. Did anyone else notice that peculiarity? Is there a coverage drill in the new game so I can continue my so far ineffective quest for improved coverage skills?

Point to you for wanting to play as A DB on defense. I would like that as well but I suck because of the camera angle. If I pick a DB before the snap, they better move towards my side of the field if not, I get flipped around and dont even run in the proper direction if the camera angle changes.
I usually just play DT or DE. Sometimes LB.
I figure if I pick a player in the secondary prior to the snap and all the way through the play I feel i will just screw myself up big time by getting out of position.
I mainly just want to get sacks and get my DL to win awards.
I let the computer take over the coverage guys and then at the last minute I take over and usually get a pick or get burnt

Point back at ya! Thats exactly how I play and for the same reasons. Maybe one of these iterations they will come up with a better way to play as db.
I had not really thought about it before but that camera angle thingy might be the culprit for me as well. I just know it is generally a bad idea for me to select db prior to the snap. Take care and thanks for your comments.

You know that camera angle is the same way for the punts.
When I go to field the punt, as soon as you catch the punt, the camera angle flips around and instead of looking from the direction of the offensive line perspective it flips really quick and it is now from the defensive perspective. Which is all fine but when you catch it I am moving my joystick in one direction so when the camera flips for a brief second I get turned around and dont switch my guy in the proper direction and I start back tracking. Same thing for playing Defensive back or when you get an interception the camera angle flips around.
I guess I have perceptuability problems or either just think to dad gum much LOL
heck I play for the recruiting part.
