these long races with stages? I liked it better when they just ran as long and as hard as possible with pit stops only being made in desperation or during crashes.

I don't mind it, but like to see caution laps NOT count as laps. Laps should be run at full speed, IMO.

I used to be a big NASCAR fan, but after the Intimidator died, I quit watching for several reasons.

Stages just add to the wussification of sports.

go round & round & round in the same direction!
Maybe maturity hit me or watching Clemson football makes more sense.
LOL, but not kidding.

I remember when rubbing was racing
Now even thinking about rubbing causes a massive wreck. I hate how sensitive the cars are

I know this isn't what you asked about, but I think NASCAR turned their back on their core audience years ago. Much like college football is doing now.

I got free seats to all the Charotte races. I also went to a few in Darlington, Rockinham, and Wilkes.
This crap today aint that.

I'm sure it was much more fun watching Richard Petty lap the entire field every race.

Like a lot of sports Nascar is more competitive than it's ever been.
Literally a dozen or more drivers are capable of winning every week.
I think one problem they have as crazy as it sounds is the drivers are too good. They regularly go the whole race without single wreck.
Daytona, Talladega, and the short tracks are the only ones worth watching now.

Try going to a Grand Prix race and see if anything there excites you! The most amazing group of beyond beautiful women that this ole Tiger has ever seen in one place! Even the race was exciting!
I was very good friends with Junior Johnson back in the old days and I could write a book about that character!!! I really miss spending time with him and his young bride! What tales he could tell!

I don't mind the stages. I think those give you three more betting opportunities. Gambling on outcomes may do for NASCAR what it did for horse racing. That may be something that sport needs.

driving down the road listening to a different commentator in every turn/stretch.
I still like Nascar, but there is definitely a lack of personalities among the drivers - not sure if that's why I stopped watching as much as I used to, or the lack of a draw...
