If Streeter thinks running DJ on 3rd and 18 is not being

Conservative then he needs to step down. A pass completion of 10 yards not even a first down could have put us in field goal range and 3 points would have salted the game away. We have not had a good offensive coordinator since Chad Morris left. We looked good as long as we had a generational QB Watson and Lawrence. They overcame poor schemes.

The play calling was conservative. I find it hard to believe that our coaches don’t think it was.
They are lying or ignorant. Which is it?

Being conservative was not the problem. The real issue was actually being too aggressive onbthe series after the goal line stand. If there was ever a time to try some of those high percentage throws to the running backs or receiver, that would have been it. Get a first down there, and we probably aren't having this discussion.

And if you're on the defensive unit that just got off the field, you're saying "####!"

Yep ... calling two pass plays there was a bold move.

If we complete either of them, the game is probably salted away.
As it turned out, we missed on both, ran no clock and ended up punting it back to them after the great defensive stand.

Morris is the main reason we became elite.

Before he arrived, we were soft and extremely inconsistent.
I think it’s safe to say that Morris would’ve been quite successful with QBs like Watson and Lawrence.

Dabo is the reason we became elite. I’m glad Dabo hired Morris to help the offense evolve, but he hired someone to do what he envisioned

The distinction seems important to you.

I think it’s apparent to everyone that Dabo is the head coach and the one responsible for our success. Crediting Morris for a significant shift in our program shouldn’t take anything away from Dabo.
My point is that before Morris, Dabo was 19-15 as a head coach, coming off of a losing season despite having a high profile DC in Kevin Steele who was hired from Alabama for big bucks. We were floundering and didn’t have an identity. We were soft. Dabo was on the hot seat.
Morris’s impact was immediate, as we won our first conference title in nearly 20 years and made our first BCS bowl game ever. In four years with Morris as our OC, we were 42-11 with two top 10 finishes. We also signed Deshaun Watson, which was huge for our program’s trajectory. As I’m sure you are aware, Morris was the main reason we got Deshaun.

Morris was a controversial hire and not particularly well paid by Power 5 standards when we hired him ($450,000 his first year). He also had only one year of college coaching experience and zero experience of any kind at a Power 5 program. So are you lying when you say that he’s the reason we’re elite or are you lying when you say that Streeter and Goodwin don’t have the experience to do the job?

You could coach those two.

I do not think you are stupid enough not to know that Dabo is the footing and foundation wall which holds this building up. A building of many rings, trophies and championships; one which is the envy of every school in the nation which isn't named UGA or Bama.
I promise, if Dabo asked them for their HCing job they'd retire the guy they have and pay him whatever he wanted.

you are probably correct but you'll get an *** chewing on this site from the brain washed tiger fans who cannot stand for any analysis of players or coaching! Salty group...if you are not all in on the trash that's being spewed then you are a coot or something worse (maybe that does not exist)! It seems that the only ones who post a lot never got within 5 yds of a football field or didn't think when they were out there! The game today is complex...any QB that runs the ball with 8 in the box is brain dead or uncoached...someone has to be open...concrete shoes do not a runner make!

The chances of making a 3rd and 18 are astronomically small, so you call a QB draw and hope for a safe miracle - you play the odds.

I tend to agree with you. Streeter has been marginally more creative than Elliott/Scott, but our scheme has been overly conservative for a long time. Obviously you can’t argue with the W/L results, so I am willing to give them plenty of grace on that, but it does feel like it’s holding us back at least slightly.
