Other than Matt Ryan getting hit, I was at that game also, I don't think I have ever seen a Clemson player hit another player harder than Justin Millers hit. The Matt Ryan hit... I didn't think he would ever get up. He got up and won the game for BC.

Yeah. Don’t mean to knock a player but that Aaron Kelley drop still haunts me. But the silver lining is if we would have one that game and won the Atlantic then gone on to win the ACC. TB may have never been fired. And Dabo may have not gotten this chance. So it all worked itself out.

There’s a bunch. But first that popped into my head was spencer shuey. That safety against GA tech is one of my favorite defensive plays. He set the tone for guys like boulware and showed what being a middle linebacker for Brent Venables is all about.

When he committed to Clemson it was like the waters parted and greatness was at hand. That was in fact true. With Korn coming we could beat any team. Sadly injuries kept this great guy from what all believed was "destiny". No matter, just picking us over others encouraged others to give the TIGERS a look.
I am a fan of Korn.

Justin Miller got all the preseason hype in ‘03

And it took UGA all of 3 plays to torch Miller for 60 yards and set the tone for that season. The team never responded until after Wake put a 45-17 beat down on us.

I first thought this was about current players who are not noticed as much as they deserve. I would say Baylon Spector did us all proud last year. He should be even better this season.

He put a hit on the old coot star rb that blew him up and cause a fumble. Sadly they recovered for td. Someone here used to have a story of him coming to get an old couch for a charity and just picking it up and carrying it out by himself

Today on the porch, this thread is making my day. It is great all the names that have been mentioned so far.
Some might disagree, but I think one huge reason we won the middle Natty was Wayne Gallman. He was 18 for 46 yards. Those were hard yards to earn against the Alabama line. He went all out to get them for us during the game in times of need. He was excellent, and the stats don't show that.

Obed Ariri had never kicked a football before he came on campus.
He was so popular on campus during his Senior year that "Obed Ariri for the Heisman Trophy" bumper stickers were made up. - Set 6 NCAA kicking records and tied another 3 - Made the longest field goal in Clemson history (57 yards) - Clemson Hall of Fame

Willie Jordan. Had a poster of him stuffing a Gamecock on the 1 yard line! I think it was from 1976 and that preserved the win.

We had so many great LBs in the 90s that get talked about a lot, but seldom does Ed McDaniel get brought up. He led the team in tackles 3 out of 4 years, including when we were the #1 D in the nation with NFL talent all over the field. He also had a nice 10 year NFL career with a Pro Bowl on his record.
