Simple poll with ownership. Should CBB stay or go AND

if you have an opinion - who should we pursue with great urgency ?
The post about how many do or don't feel a certain way made me wonder.
You are the AD - you have to decide - no need for editorializing.
I'll go first.

second this! BB has to go!! He said that he "was comfortable with his job and what he was doing"!! I have NEVER SEEN anyone with that attitude make the HUGE IMPROVEMENT that is needed. Why should he? He is a FAILURE and he is comfortable!!

Has to go! Try for Marshall with increased administration support for basketball and equal footing with football. If he says no, there are quality coaches out there . Just make sure that they are great recruiters this time.

Never hire Gregg Marshall, unless you want the NCAA camping out at Clemson.

Unless we get smacked by Oakland, he stays. Gets one more year.
I have no idea who to hire. Like the Will Wade suggestion, but whatever the case, we're gonna need to pony up to the tune of 2.5-3MM A year if we're serious about winning and coach accountability.

Absolutely has to go.
We have 2 options: 1. Make it clear we will buy the best coach we can and start bidding for everyone. $3 mil buys a really good coach and can give us instant credibility on a commitment to basketball.
2. Come to the realization that we have to differentiate ourselves. I would really like Will Wade, but any coach who presses. That system works well here and helps to even the playing field with schools like Duke, UNC, etc. It is similar to GT running the triple option. It gives them an identity and allows them to play with more talented teams. If we don't go big name, then we need a coach who will run for 40 minutes.

If we lose tonight or badly to Bama then a total review is in order. I am 63 yrs old and am tired of inconsistent basketball.
Coach Brownell has faced many challenges in his tenure, but seven years is really enough time to turn a corner. If we win twenty games this season in the NIT then I say give him next year only to make the NCAA or be gone. If we bomb the NIT then send him packing with a buyout.
Either way Drad needs to go after Will Wade first, Gregg Marshall next or Pat Kelsey to turn the page of Tiger BB. Being "comfortable" is NOT a comment for a coach who finished 6-12 in a year when his team was supposed to make the tournament! Brownell really needs leave of his own accord, but with a buyout less than his contract, but I doubt that happens.
Go Tigers!

Keep him another year or two.

If you are going to build new facilities to help recruiting, then it doesn't make much sense to fire the coach who needs them (and helped get them funded and built) after just one year. So far, they have only made a small impact because the 2017 recruits never got to see the finished product during their recruitment. They only got to see the drawings.
As we know, this 2017 class is Brownell's best class. It is not unreasonable to see what happens in 2018 and 2019, with the expectation that recruiting will continue to improve.
Plus, he has a lot going for him:
-Highest team GPA and graduation rate on record -Recruits quality young men who represent our university well -No off the court issues -He has greatly increased the donor base for basketball -We were competitive in almost every game this season
Maybe he can't get us over the hump, but when you look at the overall job he has done, another year or two is justified.

Recruits are not stupid judge. Adding one or two years will not fool recruits. They won't come to a place where the coach is in limbo. Either make him a big extension or cut ties. Brownell has done nothing to earn that kind of extension. He's a loser.

It makes zero sense to keep him and not extend his contract. Add a couple of years to it, but keep the buyout structure the same so that Clemson is protected.

That alone is obviously not a reason to keep him, as the ultimate measure is wins and losses. But if he is as successful as we hope he is, I think he would stay at Clemson and not bolt for somewhere else. This is an important consideration, since we have never shown the ability to retain successful coaches.

Losers hid behind graduation rates. 1 NCAA tournament in 7 years! A 12th place finish in the ACC! Enough is enough. It's about winning and losing. Cut the buyout to make it clear that he will be fired . Why do fans constantly defend bad coaches at Clemson?

"Losers hid behind graduation rates." Speak for yourself. I want our players to graduate but then again I am not a loser troll who created an account 7 days ago and has done nothing but spew garbage all over the baord since then.

I think we already have a pretty good idea what's going to happen.
He's going to collect a couple of more $10,000 bonuses for making the NIT.

c'mon--
7 years after taking over an NCAAT program, and we've only been once, which was a play-in game in his first year...
I don't know what universe that is acceptable in, or in what universe it screams "come back for another"...
I like Brad, and I think he loves Clemson, but this program has steadily gone backward since he took over, and there is really NOTHING to dispute that or suggest otherwise
winning % - less than predecessors
NCAA bids - less
NIT bids - less
