I saw that even at 5-7 they could make it by virtue of some academic improvement loophole. And there is such a thing as padding the books.

Ruined the bowl system not the bowls. Doesn’t mean anything anymore
Back when it was Cotton, Orange, Sugar and Rose then a step down to Gator, Liberty and Bluebonnet it meant something to get invited
Guess you could throw the Peach and Sun in there also but they were late comers before ESPN created all these bowls for cheap programming
