No the teams in the playoff have a very clear, specific path to make the playoff. Win your division. The CFP is based on opinion. Not saying I don’t like the playoff, just throwing that out there.

It’s pretty clear in college football too imo. Be in a P5 conference, or in the case of ND fill the majority of your schedule with P5 teams, (or if you’re UCF get over yourselves and play some P5 teams on the road if you have to) and don’t lose any games. If you do lose a game then don’t get blown out, and hope that you scheduled at least one good OOC game.
Clemson seems to understand this by making sure we’ve had teams like Auburn, ND, Texas A&M, etc... on our schedule. It’s funny how so far the teams complaining of being left out have been teams who either scheduled nothing but cupcakes OOC, had 2 losses, or got blown out by an average team.

Easily solved by shortening regular season and having playoff games at higher seeded teams home field.

Let it go man... if anything we can quit wasting money and time on semi finals and just go back to letting Clemson play Bama. You really think 4 more teams would make a difference? Once you realize college football is Clemson and Bama with everyone else being second fiddle you can quit your dumb arguement.

Here are the facts --
Dec 31, 2018, 3:23 PM
|
|
College Football leadership including school presidents is trying to: 1) make the regular season count for something, 2) maintain conference championships which are considered play-in games for top caliber teams, 3) recognize scheduling and regionalism by giving Power 5 teams from different regions a chance to make playoffs, 4) limit playoffs to four teams to minimize schedule impact & travel logistics of more playoff games, 5) minimize academic impact to supposed student-athletes, and 6) eliminate more playoff games to reduce student-athlete leverage for pay-for-play.
Simple as that Jhop.

A legitimate playoff would enhance the regular season. More teams would have meaningful games towards the end of the season.
