I'm old and easily confused. (stadium tunnel)

Y'all have been gracious to me. Last Fall I took my first and only trip to a game.
Here is my confusion.
I am reading where the tunnel that is causing so much consternation is going to be built in the west endzone. I am also remembering that the hill is on the east endzone.
And, I see this quote -
“The whole bottom level of the West End Zone, which is gameday locker room, there’s going to be a new tunnel cut that’s coming out right behind the goal post on the west side of the stadium,” Clemson AD Graham Neff recently said. “The team’s still going to ride the buses and go down the hill, but from going in and out at halftime and end of the game there’s going to be a new tunnel there. That’s coming into a new locker room in the bottom level of the West End zone.”
So, what is the problem?

They are doing some drainage work that will affect the hill at the east end of the field. Drawings I have seen look like they will be putting concrete terraces on the hill as part of that project. I think that is what people are upset about. Don’t think the west end tunnel is bothering a lot of people. Some people might see the new tunnel as a step toward eliminating the hill entrance but that has not been mentioned by the university at least not that I’m aware of. Anyone who is suggesting that is just trying to stir the pot IMO.

The same people that used to say years ago the West Endzone could never be enclosed because of some geeky reason that it would stop the airflow through the stadium. Anyone else remember people saying that? Naysayers! You see how that turned out.

I ran into Neff a while back and ask what was going on in the West End zone. He replied exactly what the original poster said above. There are no intentions to not running down the hill.

Has nothing to do with the hill or east end zone. I think most people are wondering why we need a new tunnel located in the middle of the west end zone, because as far as I know we have never had a problem going in or out at halftime.

They only have one tunnel at Michigan and it has caused problems. We are just being proactive and putting in a third tunnel to stay ahead of the game.
