personally with Tanner, I would say it exactly like that. The "I am happy here..." phrases are generic boilerplate when talks are going on.
Not saying that is happening. But it wasn't exactlly a 'no' either.

agree....I don't think that Monte is going anywhere and I hope he doesn't. But he was asked if Tanner had contacted him. He says no. But he was not asked if he had contacted Tanner thru his agent or himself.
People need to ask the question in many different ways

Monte Lee will be at Clemson a long time , and he'll win more ACC Championships than Jack Leggett...is my prediction .

Monte sounded authentic with his thoughts on the opening of the head coach position at Carolina, and more importantly the fan base expectations of making post season play. We, and I expect Carolina too, figure our baseball teams to be the best in the conference or nation. We are naturally disappointed when we fall short. As to Monte going south, can't see it. Why would he even consider such a move, friendship not withstanding. Our season ended with a very disappointing string of losses, but we were so close to a very different finish. I agree Monte has much more to prove to us. He's a great coach.

About whether or not USuC has contacted Lee or not? If I were Tanner, you're dang skippy I would want to talk to Lee - he's an outstanding young coach with obvious ties to the school. He would be a fool not to want to talk to Monte.
If Lee wants to entertain taking the dirt ###### job, that is between him, Tanner and Montes family. Period. I could care less what a reporter or fan base wants, it is none of our business.
I don't think Lee will leave as Clemson is clearly a great job at a much better university but there may be other factors that are more important to him.
Frankly, if Lee doesn't see Clemson as a top tier, final destination job ( although I think he does), who cares if he leaves?
