IMO it's not an if but when Richt revives Miami. I'm not sure that the tarholes will maintain success. We'll see I guess.

somebody over there to consistently get to the ACCCG with no more than 1 loss and have the second place team only lose to the division champ.

Supposedly Turbinsky has a better arm than Williams.

He will have the U winning 9-10 games a year . They will never be a NC contender under Richt. He may win the ACC if Clemson or FSU have a down year.

that provides some legitimacy to the conference based on their historical records. I think Louisville is a strong candidate to add to this list each year. Adding a Boston College, UNC, NC State or Georgia Tech with a dynamic player (i.e. Matt Ryan or Russell Wilson) to the mix from time to time would be the recipe to increase the ACC's national presence. This would be a strong five to six teams each year that could make some noise. The ACC had the biggest upgrade in coaching talent last year which will result in big rewards in the future.
I think the next thing that needs to be worked on outside of Tallahassee and Clemson is getting the butts in the seats of the conference's stadiums whether the teams are playing at home or away.

The only way the ACC gets the national respect it wants is for Miami and FSU to be great at the same time. Then it needs Clemson, VT, and UNC to be very good. I love Clemson, but FSU and Miami are the 2 in the league that move the needle nationally.

in the Coastal like Clemson and FSU do annually on the Atlantic side, the ACCCG moves into top 3 conferences. I expect this could be happening as early as 2017.

keep doing what they are going, Clemson can move the needle. For example, I went to Vegas in late February. I had on the shirt from TTG that spoofs a PBR label. Not a speck of orange on it. Many people, not one of them prostitutes or people in a place that I'd tip. Make the playoffs a few times and bring home that trophy and Clemson is at that level.
VT we will just have to wait and see. They were really a nothing before Beamer. They may never really be back.

Richt will probably do well at Miami.
Fedora is already doing very well at UNC. I thought he was about to get hit along with basketball in their ongoing fake-class scandal, but the NCAA appears to have conspired - that's really the only word you can use - to throw the book almost entirely at the UNC Women's basketball team, so it looks like Fedora may actually skate on this. If that's the case, UNC isn't going to just drop off, and they won 11 games last year.
The real game-changer, though, is Justin Fuente at VT. People who know Fuente - and players who have played for him - say he's exceptional. He probably rated ahead of even Tom Herman last year as the most sought-after coach in the country and he did some amazing things at Memphis. He's a real good offensive mind and when you combine the fact that he was able to keep Bud Foster on board, you wonder if VT might not become the power of the Coastal sooner rather than later.
Another guy who's interesting is Bronco Mendenhall. Not a lot of people on the East Coast really follow BYU but he won a boatload of games there...along with some very big games. Another very, very good football brain, there. UVA upgraded there, a bunch.
Combine that with Dino Babers jumping in at Syracuse - that was a coup, for the Orange, a lot of people were looking at him - and the ACC upgraded as much in terms of quality coaching as I've ever seen in one year.

The quality of head coaches in the ACC has gone up tremendously in the last several years - especially this off season with the addition of Richt/Bronco & Fuente. Should pay dividends for the league sooner rather than later.

Quozzel, I am not sure, but I often think we have the same brain pattern lol. I could not agree more. Fuente was a huge get from day one at Memphis, and keeping BF, along with their recruiting footprint, VT will be back, and in a hurry. Bronco is a HECK of a coach who flew under the radar no doubt. UVA is a tough sell, but we will see. All the other new coaches are good gets, throw in Petrino with two years of re recruiting for his offense, and they are going to be tough. A coach who I feel is also very under appreciated is Steve Addazio. I get it, they have been bad on offense, but he has instilled a tough, blue collar mentality on that team, and suffered some rough QB injuries along the way. If they give him time he will earn respect for the Eagles. The ACC is on the rise IMO and will be a rough league by 2017.

The narrative will then be Miami success due to Mark R bringing the SEC style to the ACC

Who gives a ####. It's our competition, we don't have to pull for them after we start losing as an excuse when our year has went to ####. We can just worry about what Clemson does and what Clemson controls.
Clemson is gonna keep winning and all the big games will keep coming with it. It's gonna be fun to watch for a long time
