If FSU wants stabililty and predicatability from a coach,

then Tommy Bowden should be given serious consideration. It doesn't hurt that he has name recognition and family ties to Florida State. Not to mention, after a few years he would be the best man to find them the next Dabo.

Why stop at just Tommy, I hear that Terry is doing well. SEC West Experience and even won that division TWICE.
However, how do you explain Terry's coaching tree? Is that something like a closed loop?

Why not Tommy. Family name, a tradition of good football coaching, still young enough , and with no baggage to speak of.

what Dabo had to rebuild from. They need culture change and Tommy Bowden is not that guy. If I were FSU I'd stay as far away from another Bowden as I could get. That ship has sailed and been out of sight since 2000.

I get the impression Tommy is not all that interested in coaching again. I'm sure he could have had a job at a smaller school several years ago if he had wanted one.

I dunno. They make come out today and shoot themselves in the foot by saying they “want a minority coach” like last time.

They Need Tony Elliott or Jeff Scott. A young up and coming coach. But why would they want to go to that mess. They'll get no one any good until the president retires and the new AD is is a good hire.
My hope is that they both stay here for a long time. I'm trying to look at from their prospective.
I'm back...I almost got sick from that perspective...

Tommy must be doing something right, he hasn't been fired as a head football coach in over 11 years.

nope. the next coach at FSU will be the one and only

Steve Spurrier. He'll coach for a few years, bring them back an ounce respectability based on his exploits alone, drink a ton of Coors, play a ton of golf, then bolt half way through his 3rd or 4th season once people are on to the drunkedness.
Florida will once again welcome him back with open arms
it is written, let it be so.

No one willing to hire a coach like him really cares how much he drinks.

This makes too much sense . A big reason we had Bowden was for name recognition , and he hires Dabos . Thank you for a lucid poast among many many muddled .
